From Crooked Compass - great news!
With the announcement from Mongolia that Australian’s can now travel visa free and the opening up of China, increased flights to Hong Kong and Seoul, Mongolia will now be accessible almost daily from Australia!
In line with this exciting news, we are offering all new bookings deposited by 28th Feb 2023, a $250AUD per person credit to use towards pre or post touring and accommodation in conjunction with our small group tours.
With three small group tours in Mongolia, we have something for everyone, from the more adventurous with camping and horse riding to the remote Reindeer Tribes of Mongolia in June, to the traditional nomadic festival of Naadam in July and the culturally rich Golden Eagle Festival in September/October.
Our Reindeer Tribes and Naadam Festival tours are already guaranteed departures and we envisage all three tours will be sold out.
With a maximum of 12 guests per tour, our touring experiences are intimate, personal and life changing.
Here a couple of unique selling points per tour as why choose Crooked Compass for Mongolia:
Reindeer Tribes of Mongolia - Guaranteed Departure
- We are the only company in Australia to hold permits to visit the Taiga Reindeer Tribe in the countries far north due to the medical support we provide outside our touring product to help keep them remote and their culture alive
- This exclusivity means this is a true once-in-a-lifetime experience
- You cannot experience this precious tribe or experience with any other Australian operator
Naadam Festival - Guaranteed Departure
- Most people are familiar with the Naadam Festival that takes place around Ulaanbaatar – this is where most other operators take guests – we do not.
- Naadam is a nationwide celebration and we take guests to a remote, far more traditional Naadam away from the tourist crowds.
- Did you know that the tourist crafted Naadam in Ulaanbaatar, whilst only 15km from town, can take 2hrs to reach due to the tourist traffic?? No thanks!
- Skip the crowds, go remote and experience this nomadic festival in its most authentic sense
Mongolia’s Golden Eagle Festival
- There are two Golden Eagle festival which take place a week or two apart – one that is crafted for tourism, and the other which is a smaller more local festival celebrating the start of the hunting season – we go to the more local authentic festival
- We build our own ger camp to ensure quality and comfort for our guests
- Attending the smaller, more local festival provides us with one on one time with Eagle hunters, our own private photography opportunities and exclusive access not possible and the crowded tourist focussed festival
