Our Story

Glenella is a heritage listed building originally built in 1905 and expanded into a guesthouse in 1916. Federation Queen Anne style features enrich the grand residence, with handmade leadlight windows, dome patterned ceilings, turned timber posts, a hipped roof made of corrugated iron and a wraparound veranda. The property comes with a rich history and charming period pieces. Today Glenella Guesthouse respects the history of the building while providing modern comforts.

Glenella offers accommodation for 26 guests. Guests can stay in heritage rooms with private bathrooms or basic rooms with a shared bathroom down the hall. There are a number of inviting communal lounge spaces to relax in, plus a large shared kitchen for preparing meals. A covered verandah extends into a private secluded and sunny garden.

We endeavour to provide a relaxed environment for our guests to enjoy the unique Blue Mountains Guesthouse experience. For this reason we do not accommodate children under the age of 16.
