Adventure Kokoda trek group led by Peter Morrison attended a special Adventure Kokoda Dawn Service at the Isurava Memorial this morning. They are settled at their final night's campsite and will have a short trek to Kokoda before their charter flight to Port Moresby. All in good spirits.

Adventure Kokoda trekker Sandra Hamill turned 50 today. Sandra and the group successfully climbed over Brigade Hill with Sandra proving she wasn't over the hill 😀. Happy Birthday Sandra.

Adventure Kokoda trek led by Peter Morrison are settled at their campsite at Efogi. Weary but well after a tough, hot climb to Brigade Hill. All in high spirits.

Replenished with their half-way food drop. Fresh baked bread rolls with eggs is on the menu for breakfast in addition to our usual provisions.

The Isurava Dawn Service is a highlight of the Kokoda pilgrimage for Adventure Kokoda trekkers. The service incorporates the traditions of Anzac and the service and sacrifice of the New Guinea wartime carriers (the 'fuzzy-wuzzy angels'). The inclusion of our PNG guides and carriers in the service to commemorate their grandfathers is a memory that trekkers never forget.

Steve McCann - 'The Dawn Service at Isurava was one of the highlights of the trek. Breaking out of the jungle to the memorial before you, is simply breathtaking. The battle fought there and the history created there makes it one of the most special places I have undertaken any memorial service.'
