Fifty years ago, I read a book by Catherine Cookson. 50 years! Wow… makes me sound so old. I was a teenager then, and my father gave me that book to read. The memory of that story has stayed with me ever since. So when I found an old copy of this book at the Bookfest, I had to get it. Finally found the time to re-read it recently while away on holiday. Just as good as I remembered, only I had forgotten some of it and other bits were slightly different to how I had pictured it in my imagination all those years ago. I have since read many of Ms Cookson’s books, but none stayed with me like ‘Feathers in the Fire’ 🪶 🪶🪶 🔥

Winter here. The garden is not looking it’s best, but there is promise that Spring will be beautiful. Tiny Maidon’s hair fern new growth starting to fill the pots.🥰

Warms the cockles of my heart to see such intricate and beautiful embellishments nowadays, in a boring boxy modern world of minimalism. The old Regent Theatre in Brisbane City may not show movies these days, but it makes a lovely spot to just sit and reflect... in a busy city.

This is another reading nook that Jill has created for the students at the Parklands Christian College ‘s new library room.

The backdrops have now been added inside the Moroccan tent. Still some more work to go into completing this reading zone at Parklands Christian College, but the once bare room is beginning to look like a beautiful library that will continue to enhance the lives of all who enter in. Jill has poured so much heart and soul into her new library room and indeed all of the hundreds of students, who due to Jill’s passion have developed a true love of reading. 📚📖🥰

Made a pattern, marked it out on fabric, cut out then stitched together, measured out in pencil for an edging, applied pva glue, then glitter, followed with sealer, then added the trim I had created previously, as well as tassels and embellishments... nearly there!

Over the MOON. Now that COW has something to jump over.😁 The colour doesn’t show up well on screen. Moon and star are really oyster white with very tiny sparkles imbedded.
One more character to complete... well actually, two. But they do go together.😉
