Last week, the CTM Group Wine Down Club visited the Swissôtel Sydney to explore this luxury hotel and connect as a team. Team members from Corporate, Meetings & Events, and Show Group came together for room inspections and to sample signature dining drinks and nibbles. To celebrate the Olympics, our CTM and Andrew Jones Travel teams in Hobart hosted an Olympic-themed morning tea. Team members proudly displayed their national colours, representing Australia, France, and Colombia. There was even a medal ceremony for Linda who won the chocolate eating contest!

Last week, our CTM Brisbane office had a wonderful visit from the staff and students at the Cowboys Community Foundation. This was a great opportunity to enjoy breakfast together and show the students around the office. In fact, many of the students showed promise as future travel consultants! CTM remains a proud partner of the NRL Cowboys House who provide quality secondary education for Indigenous students.

The Lady Musgrave Trust hosted their annual Cocktail Party last Friday, raising important funds to support the Logan Housing Project which will deliver safe and supported housing for young Queensland women and their children. Congratulations to Lions Academy graduate, Bruce Reville, on being signed to the Brisbane Lions on a Category B rookie deal. Bruce has been part of the Lions Academy since 2012, and his story exemplifies persistence and determination. This signing is a clear demonstration of the importance of CTM's partnership with the Lions Academy which strives to support the next generation of young talent in Queensland. Our events division, Event Travel Management (ETM), has been named finalist for 'Most Outstanding Business Events Travel Agency' and our loyalty division, Flybuys Travel, has been selected as a finalist for 'Most Outstanding Online Travel Agency'!

Last Friday, members of our CTM Tasmania team attended the inaugural flight of Rex Airlines from Melbourne to Hobart. They had a private tour of the airline's Boeing 737, which has 8 business class seats, extra legroom seats, and a tidy economy offering. We are grateful to Rex and Hobart Airport for arranging this amazing opportunity and look forward to seeing the success of their new daily service.

Christmas came early at the CTM Sydney office as we celebrated Christmas in July with a beautiful lunch and an exciting raffle! Our social club organised a wonderful event that brought joy and festive cheer to the office. Congratulations to Lions Academy graduate, Jaspa Fletcher, on making his AFL debut for the Brisbane Lions on Friday night! CTM’s partnership with the Lions Academy strives to nurture the next generation of young talent, and Jaspa’s debut last week demonstrated just how important this program is for supporting Queenslanders in achieving their goals. Founder and Managing Director of CTM, Jamie Pherous, passed on his congratulations “The CTM team have been cheering on Jaspa throughout his journey of graduating the Academy and being drafted in November last year. It was a great moment to see him take to the field and make such an impressive debut, which included kicking a goal. We’re proud to be supporting the Academy in creating more opportunities for players like Jaspa.

Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann spoke of the importance of CTM as a partner of the Academy.

“Our Academy is designed to provide the Brisbane Lions an opportunity to produce and retain high end talent, which in turn helps the long term on-field success of our football Club. The event was in line with the 2023 theme of National Reconciliation Week, "Be a Voice for Generations," and aimed to inspire participants to use their voices for reconciliation in their daily lives. This morning, CTMers across the country put their baking skills to the test for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea! Offices across the country brought in a collection of delicious sweet and savoury treats, all in the spirit of raising vital funds to aid the Cancer Council Australia in supporting those impacted by cancer. Thank you to everyone who got involved, brought along a share plate and donated to this very important cause!
