A snippet of the Bruce Highway Upgrade (Cooroy to Curra - Section D-1) that Q H & M Birt have been working on since October 2020 🛣

So far we have moved over 3 million cubic metres of dirt on this project with our bulk earthworks completion set for Christmas 2022 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

Q H & M Birt staff members Ross Allen and Ante Rados (Croey Radoš) will be navigating the almost 100km Kokoda Challenge Ultra Marathon on 16-17 July to promote and raise funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation (KYF) who run a variety of youth programs.

Their goal is to raise $2000 so please show your support and get around them.

We love to see our QBIRT employees putting themselves out there and fundraising for a good cause. One of our HSE Advisor/TAE’s Luke Nerdal and his partner Shimeka, are taking on the ‘Choose Your Path Challenge’ to empower those who are blind and low vision. Over the month of April they will be walking/running 100Km, covering ground in NT, QLD, and NSW.

Good work guys!! 👏🏃🏃‍♀️

As part of QBIRT’s training and upskilling, we take pride in bringing new employees into the industry, as well as upskilling our current employees.

At our current project in Queensland, 13 employees so far have successfully completed their traineeship in Cert III in Civil Construction Plant Operations.

Pictured below is Brooke who is new to the civil construction industry and is one of six employees currently undertaking their Cert III traineeship. Many new and existing employees have gained training and certification to successfully gain RII tickets during their time on this project including; roller, compactor, grader, excavator, dozer, dump truck, loader, IT, scraper, and water truck.

As well as our operators, we are also currently putting our supervisors and workshop employees through TAE, HRWL and S1,2,3 training as well.

Here’s a 360 degree view of our largest excavator on site. This CAT 6018 is the only one of it’s kind in the Southern hemisphere and weighs 180 tonnes.
