From 11:59pm on Thursday 31 March, all travellers flying into New Zealand need to apply for and receive a travel pass through the New Zealand Traveller Declaration website, before boarding their aircraft. Declarations made through the Nau Mai Rā web site will only be accepted for travellers arriving for a limited time. .It is recommended that travellers in this group also reapply for their travel pass through the New Zealander Traveller Declaration site, if possible.

Since 1 November 2021, non-NZ citizens (including permanent residents) who don’t meet the COVID-19 vaccination requirements cannot enter New Zealand, apart from in certain circumstances. From 11.59pm Tuesday 12 April, Australians who meet the COVID-19 vaccination requirements will be able to travel to New Zealand without needing to isolate but instead self-test after their arrival.

From 11.59pm Sunday 1 May, travellers from visa-waiver countries and those with valid visitor visas who meet the COVID-19 vaccination requirements, will be able to travel to New Zealand without needing to isolate but instead self-test after their arrival.
