Morton National Park is putting on a good show of wildflowers. I've met a few visitors and locals along the tracks and some are keen to know the names of the plants, so here are a few examples from Fairy Bower Falls Track.

In order of the photos, Prostanthera howelliae, Zieria smithii, Tetratheca ciliata, Aotus ericoides, Kennedia rubicunda, Dodonaea triquetra, Pultenaea daphnoides, Boronia floribunda, Epacris calvertiana, Gompholobium grandiflorum, Dampiera stricta, Pultenaea villosa, Comesperma ericinum.

Please remember that flowers cannot be picked from NPWS estate without a scientific license.

The Fire Danger Rating will elevate to High for tomorrow, Wednesday 25 September for the Wingecarribee Shire Council and Wollondilly Shire Council areas as a result of the continuing warm and dry conditions.

With more than 300 active burn notifications across the Southern Highlands, all landholders are strongly advised to postpone any burning planned for tomorrow. Any landowners that have been burning in recent weeks should check to ensure those fires are thoroughly extinguished and checked regularly.

Landholders have a legal responsibility to ensure that fire does not spread from their property - Penalties can apply.
