This year Maddy Tours is heading to Laos in November. The tour will start with a cruise down the Mekong River from the Thai border and dock in Luang Prabang. Besides enjoying the charm and elegance of the French colonial influence we will embrace the local culture, the Elephant Conservation Centre, cascading waterfalls, sip wine as the sunsets over the Mekong, Buddhist temples, traditional herbal sauna plus much more. The 17 day tour will finish in Siem Reap, Cambodia with a jaunt around the town and of Angkor Wat.

Khao Poun

When rice dough is dropped through a sieve into boiling water, the resulting noodles are known as Khao Poun. These are served fresh and a meaty broth is poured over them before shredded cabbage, banana blossom, and fresh herbs are added. This is a common dish at family or religious gatherings, but can even be found at roadside stalls, so try a bowl on your next visit!

On the list: Varkala, Kerala Tour 2023 : A legend goes like this - when a group of pilgrims approached Saint Narada and told him that they had sinned, Narada threw his valkalam ( a loin cloth made from the bark of a tree) and it landed at this scenic village and hence, the place came to be known as 'Varkala'.

Maddy Tours is gearing up for two tours late 2023.
In the mix is Kerala in South India with a two week romp through the watery south spiked with a spicy visit to the mountains before finishing in cultural Kochi.
At the other end we’ll be winding up the Himalayas into a less explored region to capture 180 degree views of mountain peaks, mountain lakes, followed by Jim Corbett Wildlife Park. It’s a heady, exhilarating experience for those who like a road less travelled….with comfort.

Maddy Tours is postponing the Kerala Tour which was planned for November/December 2022. Hopefully 2023 will prove to be more conducive for tours with our superfunds looking a bit healthier and flights not so chaotic!
I’m looking at possible tours in 2023 to one or both of the following places: Kerala for the backwaters and/ or North East India for those seeking a less inhabitated adventure into less explored regions.
