Captains Ross and Cathy Tregidga are rightly proud of Miss Angel, a 24 meter Mediterranean Yacht and welcome you to the opportunity of sharing their joy. Her mahogany timber, impressive layout, wide beam, full sails, expansive decks and attention to detail will impress you on first glance and make y...
Safely slipped and in really good condition considering the heavy seas she has been in. ⛵️😀👍⚓️
We have just celebrated the happiest of weekends with our daughter Cassi marrying her best friend Ben!
Home at the Customs berth until this arvo then on to the slip.
It feels so good to be home!!
Yes, we are home. Have just been met by Cathy and our agent on the jetty. Not allowed on or off the boat for a few hours until we go through all immigration formalities and then PARTY! Sooooooooo good to be home. Thank you everyone for your comments, support and prayers. See you all soon! ⛵️😍🍷⚓️👍
Getting closer and still dodging storm cells. 😳😳⛵️⛵️
Off shore from Port Douglas. We'll be at Cairns early tomorrow morning. So close. It has been an epic and harrowing adventure and a lot of lessons have been learned - primarily about crew selection and dealing with agents in so many countries. It has been a great 4 months but sad now that this chapter is close to finishing. See you all very soon! ⛵🍷⚓
Finally off the eastern coast of Oz after another harrowing session coming in to Torres Strait. Took these shots this morning off the mainland and Albany Island. We have this to look forward to for next three days until we reach Cairns.
Captain Aneta showing the scars of yesterday's storm - 35 knot winds and three meter waves that were short and sharp. Very challenging for boat and crew. All a bit scarred and bruised but this crew is incredible. At the height of the storm they had calmly laid out all the equipment in case we had to abandon ship. No fuss, just get the job done. All of us up to the task and doing our share of all the workload. Again - so proud of them and Miss Angel. ⛵⛵⚓️⚓️
Highlight of my week was picking up our bus for Allure Cruises. Absolutely stunning art work and application by Tammy of Homan signs. We certainly won't be missed driving around in this. The rest of the time spent shut away from morning to night in the unit doing paperwork and making phone calls hardly even having time to eat! to enable the smooth arrival and importation of our Miss Angel. Hopefully I have been successful!! Now treating myself to a lovely dinner at the Boatshed on the marina and even having a stiff drink!
Can't wait for them to arrive Anzac day morning
Three days ago we were intercepted by border control, vessel and aircraft. Just checking on progress and entry formalities.
Great to see the crew based at Cairns, Miss Angels new home.
Cathy and I looking forward to welcoming our services personnel and families to Miss Angel.
On Thursday night we were 5 nm off another boat. Radar tracking showed it was stopped. Imagined it was just a large fishing boat. Then they set off emergency flare as they were in distress. As only boat in area we responded. Indonesian passenger vessel had engine failure. All on boat safe but boat drifting off coast. With the assistance of Cathy in Cairns on the satellite phone we were able to coordinate Indonesian search and rescue. We stood by for over three hours coordinating efforts until we were given all clear to leave. Miss Angel lives up to her name and enduring spirit. Crew were fantastic and all played their part to a tee. Thanks to all, especially Captain Aneta.
Morning, noon and night on the Flores Sea, North Indonesia. And so ends another day at the office - Miss Angel style. Enjoying our travels with the best crew you could imagine. Great teamwork and personalities. Aneta, Javier, Lauri, Mikko, myself and Cathy in close support. We could not ask for better. See you guys soon.
⛵
Well the drama continues it is 3:45am and I have been on the phone on and off for the last 31/2 hours to Indonesian search and rescue as Miss Angel has been involved in a rescue of a local passenger boat with 18 people on board that was stranded at sea due to engine failure. I have just received a call from the Indonesian authorities to say that the vessel in distress has now Bern rescued and Miss Angel is now on her way again. Praise the Lord for the sat phone we were Abel to get help to therm.
Sailing past the volcanic Island of Palau Sangeang.
Great minds think alike Ross here is the same angle taken at sunset from Phuket to Bali
Definitely looking worse for wear after 3 months at sea but staying strong.
Underway. Next stop - home. See you all soon.
- Captain Ross
The new crew all together for a last night out in Maldives. Lauri from Finland, Jamie from Australia, Captain Aneta from Poland, Valentin from France, Kiwi Ross and Javier from Spain. English Rose Cathy will join the crew in 7 days time and Ivan in a fortnight. Great weather ahead of us and Miss Angel eager to get to her new home in Cairns.
Our next new crew member arrived today - Lauri from Finland. 20 hours ago he was freezing cold and now he is walking the plank. Welcome! ⛵
A beautiful day for our new Captain to take Miss Angel out for a sail and crew training session.
Abdurrahman's final meal for us. He has been a wonderful friend, Captain and cook.
Captains Aneta and Abdurrahman clearing barnacles from the rudder.
Today we welcome our new Captain, Aneta, to Miss Angel. Here she is with our retiring Captain Abdurrahman who is returning to Turkey on the weekend after he has trained the new crew. Aneta is from Poland and has more than 40,000 hours of sea time.
I'm very excited to give you a sneak peak of our new crew! I'll be back later in the week to give them all a proper introduction :)
Not long now until we'll be back in Cairns. Have you planned your trip up to see us yet?
