Bring the kids, catch the train.

School holiday train rides are running this Wednesday 10th January 2024. Enjoy a summer train ride through the forest to either Musk or Bullarto. Trains depart Daylesford at 10:30am, 11:45am, 1:15pm and 2:30pm.

Tickets are available online at via https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1043301

Online bookings close at 09:45am and any remaining tickets still available on the day will be sold from the booking office in the historic Daylesford railway station.

Loathe to leave today, but the weather is cold so we stayed in the snug little house on the lake and waited for a new television to be delivered. It is amazing to watch tv without glare from the sun or the lake.

Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm is one of our favourite places to visit. You can take a picnic and eat in the beautiful gardens or buy yummy food from the cafe.

At Daylesford's Sunday Market this Sunday the 30th of July 2023 -
Volunteer restored heritage trains will be touring our beautiful countryside to Bullarto, the highest active railway station in Victoria.
One of regional Victoria's best shopping experiences.
90+ stalls full of treasures will be found.
Dog friendly for friendly dogs, leash a must.
Bring cash as not all stalls accept EFTPOS and there is NO ATM.
Opens at 8am, winds down (stalls start leaving) from 1pm, closes at 3pm, will wind down and close earlier if weather is poor.

Train to Passing Clouds

Each Sunday the Daylesford Spa Country Railway passes by our little train station on its way from Daylesford to Bullarto. Ask the railway staff to stop at Passing Clouds and come in and enjoy a tasting before jumping back on the train to head back into town!

Waterside Cottage is opposite the Northern Lights or Borealis entrance on Lake Daylesford. 100 meter walk to the entrance, so convenient. You must prebook tickets or they will be sold out.

We bought new linen for the twin bedroom and I couldn’t wait to put it on the beds. I have to take the matching quilts up as soon as we can, they will look so beautiful. Society of Wanderers is a fave at the moment.
