Ten years ago we became the official owners and operators of Dungowan waterfront accomodation

When we seen this place in June 2014 it brought tears to our eyes because we could see the potential.

Creating a new home and building a family business was a huge leap of faith for us both.

It was a risk.

We both worked in Sydney Monday to Friday and had to learn the whole booking platform tech and create a vision for how we thought our life would look further down the line.

We got in before AirBnB became a big thing and we worked pretty damn hard to make sure our vision came to life.

Renovating one apartment at a time and living in what could only be described as ‘original condition’ accommodation ourselves (we honestly looked like we were squatting 😂) yet we were creating our forever home in beautiful Jervis Bay, NSW.

It was a huge move for us both. The commitment was mammoth yet we did it. We stayed the course when some said we would get bored (🤣) and move onto to something else after a couple of years.

We had been together only 3 years yet this felt like the perfect thing for us to commit to.

Jump forward ten years and here we are with our 6 apartments and two cottages all renovated, our own private jetty, a son, a cracking new sign, a cat, a new swimming pool attached to our fully renovated dream home and it feels fantastic.

As a team we have built our dream ❤️ Dirk with his tireless appetite for construction and renovating plus applying his technology wizardry and us always balancing work loads and the demands of small business have done and continue to do what is necessary to make our dream come to life.

We thank all of our family and friends for their unwavering support and our guests for either checking us out and enjoying our pet and family friendly modern accommodation or becoming return guests who we welcome into our family home as easily as our great accommodation.

Let’s see what the next ten years bring.
