Punam Panta Our Principal Migration Agent has been living in Australia for over 25 years with most of it being spent in the Multiple Regional States. Before becoming a Registered Migration Agent, she had a successful career as an

IT Engineer and a Senior Leader in large multinational corporations. She has a vast amount of experience volunteering in the community in various organisations where she has had exposure to many vertical industries such as Health, Retail, Government, Banking & Finance, Education etc. That has been the key for her to understand the different skills one can bring to Australia. Her first degree is Bachelor (Honours) in Telecommunication in London, UK. She has also completed her Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law from Victoria University, Melbourne and successfully completed the Migration Capstone Assessment conducted by the Legal Training Australia. She is a fully qualified Registered Migration Agent.

6) What does this mean for your interim ROI?

If you have already submitted an interim ROI and have been invited to apply:

There will be no impact on you. You can continue to lodge your application for nomination up until Friday 9 December 2022.


If you have submitted an interim ROI but have not yet received an invitation to apply for nomination:

If you are still interested in being nominated by Tasmania for a skilled visa you will need to record a new ROI in the Application Gateway after it is launched on 12 December 2022. ROIs submitted through the Application Gateway will be held for up to six months.

If you have not submitted an interim ROI:

Tasmania is not currently accepting new ROIs until 12 December 2022. You will be able to submit an ROI in the Application Gateway after it is launched on 12 December 2022.

Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program Update

Final stage interim program has opened for all eligible candidates.

IN A SUMMARY:

1. Final Program has opened for the Orange Attributes too
2. The Program is still in the interim stage. Therefore high number of application is expected
3. It is strongly recommended that in the absence of any gold or green attributes only those ROIs with at least 6 orange attributes are likely to receive an invitation before the end of the interim period. Hence, apply if you match 6 Orange passes where you don't have a green or gold
4. Interim ROIs are held till 9th Dec so may also be worth to lodge ROI after 9th Dec
5. The new Migration Tasmania Gateway Application Gateway, which will become the central portal for applying for Tasmanian skilled visa nomination, is currently being finalised and tested.

The gateway is expected to go-live in early December 2022. Until then the current interim ROI process remains in place.

Tasmania announces interim nomination allocation

-Tasmania has received an interim skilled visa allocation of nomination places from the Australian Government for the 2022-23 program year.

The Department of Home Affairs has advised that this allocation will be revisited after the first quarter of 2022-23 and should not be taken as an indication of the full year’s quota.

Tasmania’s interim allocation includes:
Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa: 2000 places
Skilled Work Regional (subclass 491) visa: 1350 places

2022-23 program opening:

The Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program will open progressively in phases over the coming weeks.

The initial phase will include successful candidates ‘held over’ from the 2021-22 year as well as the selection, invitation and nomination of candidates in the Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles pathway.

Candidates currently residing overseas who are interested in Tasmanian nomination should ensure their Skillselect EOIs are up-to-date and reflect the profiles published on the Migration Tasmania website.

The second phase will open the program to high-priority ‘Gold Pass’ and ‘Green Pass’ applicants.

The final phase will open the program to registrations of interest from all eligible candidates.

Further details regarding each phase of the reopening of the Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program will be provided in future updates.

Tasmanian Established Resident Pathway (2022-23)
To be considered for this pathway you must meet all the criteria below.

You may also need to possess one or more of the priority attributes listed for this pathway (refer to the table in the link below).

You must have been living in Tasmania for at least 2 years (with no more than 50 percent of total Australian residence period spent in another Australian state or territory) and currently be employed in Tasmania in either:
a role equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Level 1-3, including a cumulative 6 months experience at the same level in the last 12 months (a minimum 20 hours per week), or
a role equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Level Skill Level 4 or 5, with a cumulative 12 months experience at the same level or higher in the last 18 months (a minimum 20 hours per week).
