It was my first time in a hide to watch the elephant come to the waterhole and drink. It was an amazing experience and you could sit and watch for hours. There was so many of them.

Besides elephant we did see quite a few lion, giraffe, hippos and lots of birdlife.

the game viewing again has been excellent.

Bomani Tented Camp is nestled in a private concession on the Ngamo Plains in Zimbabwe which legendary for unique scenery and impressive year round game viewing.

The main lodge is open air with a thatched roof. Great for viewing the animals that may pass by to drink at the waterhole. It has a small pool which is great in the warmer months.

Tented accommodation with a few different options and all very comfortable.

Great staff and great game viewing.

Great animal viewing today from Camelthorn Lodge. Lots of lion, elephant and hippopotamus. Nothing beats seeing the wildlife up so close. Yes, the giraffe are doing what you think.

Camelthorn Lodge is nestled into a forest adjacent to Hwange National Park’s famous Ngamo Plains, Zimbabwe.

Great game viewing coming into Hwange National Park. It's quite a long drive from Dete to Nehima Lodge but the game viewing starts once you enter the park.

Very lucky to see wild dog twice within a few minutes of being in the park.

Lots of elephants and a few hippos in the waterholes .

Next stop only itinerary is Nehimba Lodge. The lodge is nestled within a massive private concession in the northern part of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe.

It's a bit of a hike to get to but well worth it. The staff are amazing and the accommodation great.

Having dinner under the stars each night with the elephants coming up to drink ride in front of you was amazing.

Chobe National Park in Botswana is the starting point for all Chobe boat trips where you can get up close and personal with a wide range of wildlife.

You will see hippos and crocodiles who love to bask in the sun as well as so many different birds. Chobe National Park is home to over 460 different bird species which makes it amazing for birding safaris.

Just 15 minutes drive from Kanane airport in Botswana and 10 minutes from Chobe National Park is the charming Chobe Bakwena Lodge. It has both River View & Tree Top chalets as well as a pool.

Activities at the lodge are focused not only on game viewing in Chobe National Park and on the Chobe River. You can take time to visit the local village and learn about the local culture of the community. Guided bike tours around town and the village are offered by the lodge.

I really enjoyed Bakwena Lodge (which is an EcoLodge) and the staff her were amazing.

Wow, I have just had a ship inspection on the amazing Scenic Eclipse 2 which arrived into Sydney for the first time. She is a stunning ship and classed as an Ultra Luxury Yacht. She sails from the Arctic right thought to Antarctica. She has 2 helicopters on board as well as a submersible! She is heading up to cruise the Kimberley's for a season.

This is why we are here, the chimpanzees! After an hour of trekking through the muddy forest, the trackers lead us to a small family of 3. What a pinch me moment. Put this on your bucket list.

Greystoke sits deep within the Mahale Mountains National Park, on the edge of the second deepest lake in the world, Lake Tanganyika. Nestled between clear water of the lake, and the tumbling forests sits the extraordinary castaway lodge. There are absolutely no roads here, and virtually no other people.

This really is the edge of the world and the ultimate in remote wilderness.

We are in for a treat as we leave the Serengeti National Park for Mahale National Park.

Mahale National Park lies on the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika and it is one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in Tanzania.

The transfer from the airstrip to the port was by motorbike seeing it recently had rain and the path was muddy.

A must do when you have the opportunity is to experience a hot air balloon over the Serengeti. Absolutely an amazing experience.

Another great day had in the Serengeti. The highlight would have to be seeing a pride of lion. There must've been at least 18. Crazy to see some up a tree.

From the Ngorongoro Crater we ventured on to the Serengeti Safari Camp which is a great mobile camp thar follows the wildlife.

This camp is is all about the Wildebeest migration. Depending on the time of year, there is always something to see.

With only six canvas tents and a roomy open mess tent, there is plenty of space to appreciate the vastness of the Serengeti.

What an incredible day exploring nature and connecting with the locals!

The game drive in Ngorongoro Crater offered breathtaking views of flamingos, birdlife, and ostriches to name a few.

Our visit to the Masaai village gave us a wonderful insight to their culture and traditions.

After enjoying Kuro Tarangire for two nights, we headed towards our next destination - the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater.

Located in its untouched North Western corner stood Entamanu Private; offering panoramic vistas over not just one but both wonders: The Cradle Of Life below & endless savannah beyond.

Tarangire National Park game drive was amazing. We saw lots of wildlife including lion.

The bush breakfast was a great experience and a must do experience when in East Africa.

Today's travel was from Arusha to Tarangire National Park where Kuro Tarangire will be home for the next two nights.

The camp with only 6 tents is tucked away in a secluded area of Tarangire National Park.

With only 6 rooms, the camp is small & intimate with a focus on natural rather than luxurious. The tranquil setting is also a favourite for wildlife, and animals often browse nearby.

Our first night was in Arusha to rest after the flight. We stayed at Rivertrees Country Inn. The inn is a charming country estate that was once an old coffee farm, and still retains the nostalgic air of a well-loved homestead.

My flight arrived into Los Angeles Airport at 6.15 am and there was already a few international flights that had already landed. Immigration and customs took just over an hour. Be prepared for a longer wait time when arriving during peak times and make sure you have plenty of time for onward connections.

As a Travel Designer, I love expanding my knowledge about the world and sharing that knowledge with my clients.
