Why do I need Traffic Plans? The Traffic Management Plan (TMP) describes how you, the client will safely manage vehicular, cyclists and pedestrian traffic during the design and construction phases of your project. TMP’s address the relevant requirements of the Scope of Work and legal criteria in line with all applicable guidelines and standards required to have a safe and manageable site for you, your workers and the traveling public. They detail the road safety and traffic management principles, strategies and measures that will be applied to enable you, the Contractors, to fulfil its safety obligations during the work in process, safety of road users and the effective management of traffic is paramount to the successful day-to-day activities during the construction phase of your Project. TMP’s are a legal requirement when working on the road, footpaths and other areas that are also accommodated by the travelling public & minimising impacts on the road & transport network and are required for obtaining relevant approvals, e.g. Road Occupancy approvals.
