Just 15km south of Mount Gambier and just off Riddoch Highway lies Mount Schank, known as the youngest volcano in Australia!

Enjoy a 900m hike from the carpark to the summit, or a 2.7km return if you’d like to walk the entire crater 🙌

ROAD CLOSURES - 100 MILE CLASSIC

Please note the following roads will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday 18 May and Sunday 19 May 2024 to allow for the safe running of the Mount Gambier 100 Mile Cycling Classic.

Saturday 18 May
- Millard Street in its entirety between 9:00am and 12:00pm.
- Bay Road being the entire length of road between the Bay Road/John Watson Drive roundabout and Railway Terrace between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

Sunday 19 May
- Bay Road between John Watson Drive North and John Watson Drive South, and
- John Watson Drive in its entirety between 7:30am and 2:30pm.

The aurora australis has lit up skies across the country with bursts of pink and green, just look at this stunning shot taken last night by our Tracey 😍🙌

This natural phenomenon was triggered by a severe geomagnetic storm, of which hadn’t been seen in Australia since 2003!

On 17 November 2023, Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig was killed in the line of duty while responding to a call at a property in Senior.

A Police funeral for Brevet Sergeant Doig took place at the Adelaide Convention Centre today to commemorate his life and 34 years of dedication he provided to the South Australia Police and more than a decade of service to Limestone Coast community.

As a mark of mourning and respect, the Australian flag was flown at half-mast across the state and the Mount Gambier Visitor Centre and The Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre will be lit up blue this evening.

Celebrate the beginning of Christmas with the return of the AAM Timber Mount Gambier Christmas Parade on the 18th of November 2023 🎄

The Mount Gambier Christmas Parade is a free community event, full of fantasy, floats, colourful characters, bands, dancers, and more!

After the parade the festivities continue over by Cave Garden/Thugi with the Party in the Park, look out for Santa who will be making a visit too 🎅
