David Bowden met up with Brian Clarke at the Injune Centenary. They went to the Muckadilla State School in the 1950s. Brian served in the RAAF for 12 years. His name would have been added to the Harry Murray VC Dedicated Wall if we had known.

Alan Arnold and Chris Arnold visited the Muckadilla War Memorial and Harry Murray Dedicated Wall. Alan appreciated the photo of the Peter Hacker Ram in the Whistle Stop. The ram was the Mascot for Alan's Regimenet. He was stationed for four years at the same place.

The 2022 Rising Sun Dawn Service had a focus on youth. Roma Scout Ventures made up the Honour Guard. St John's Students handed out poppies and flowers for the wreath laying ceremony. Local Rod Henderson was Guest Spea. Secretary Lauren Schelberg read psalm 91. Local Chistry Coomber read the Ode. Jon Hacker handled the Opening and Closing. John Lethbridge was in charge of the Last Post, Reveille and Australian Anthem. Fr. Tom Duncan handled the Anzac Blesing and Our Father. Over 150 people attended.

Be sure to plan to attend the 2022 Rising Sun Dawn Service at Muckadilla War Memorial. Arrive at at 5.43am for a6am Start. After the service enjoy Anzac Day Breakfast at the MuckadillaPub.

Guest Speaker - Robert Henderson (Muckadilla Local with two stints in the Army to his name and a great curator of the Muckadilla War Memorial grounds). We will Remember Them is the 2022 theme. In particular we remember Robert Menz former Muckadilla Resident and RSL Roma President and Scott Turner our Saxophone Player at our SErvices. Both passed away during the year. player Meet Muckadilla Stalwarts Jon Hacker and John Lethbridge. Chat with Lauren Schelberg the Secretary of Muckadilla Community Association. Christy Coomber will deliver the Ode - please support Christy because it may be a little tough for her on the day. The Crocker Brothers will be handing out Poppies and Flowers for those attending to lay on the War Memorial. Councillors Wendy Taylor and Cameron O'Neil will lead the wreath Laying followed by the Roma Ventures Scout Group. A special Anzac Poem written by Fr. Jamie Collins will be read by St. Johns Teacher Mark Brennan. The Anzac Blessing and Our Father will be in the hands of Fr. Tom Duncan from Roma Parish.
Then make sure you have Anzac Breakfast at the Muckadilla Pub with a donation to RSL Roma.

We will Remember Them.

Preperations for the 2022 Anzac Day Service are progressing well with advice that Councillors Wendy Taylor and Cameron O'Neil will be attending. Several locals have volunteered their services on the day. The servise will begin at 6am and be followed by breakfast at the Mucka Pub. If we have cloud cover the sun rising over Fettler's Hill should be impressive that morning.

Visited the Afghanistan Memorial at Yungaburra. The Eagle has a broken wing. All Service Personeĺ and Service Dogs killed in the conflict are remembered. At the entrance stand two Australian Soldiers. One is in combat gear and the other in dress uniform. The Flame Trees are just coming out. Will be in full bloom for Remembrance Day.

The U3A Roma bus will be going to Muckadilla to visit the Whistle Stop and the Muckadilla Harry Murray Dedicated Wall. Any Muckadilla people available at about 1.30 to2pm to help explainthe history would be appreciated.
