Is anyone in the Whitsundays area??

R.A.D.S Whitsunday is looking for support workers to join our amazing team. Must have blue and yellow cards/ NDIS screening, current CPR and first aid certificates, completed NDIS orientation module, drivers licence and minimum cert III individual support or equivalent in experience or willing to obtain. We have clients requiring independent supported living, community access, assistance with daily life and respite accommodation at our centre. We are looking for male and female support workers that are enthusiastic and understanding of our clients individual needs and willing to participate in outdoor activities and water sports would be a bonus.

A very fun filled Respite weekend, goals achieved, building confidence and independence in the community.
Explored some very interesting and exciting places and engaged in the community, exchanging money for admissions and communicating to cashiers.

What is a Psychosocial Recovery Coach ❓

🌻 A Psychosocial Recovery Coach (NDIS Recovery Coach) is a new type of support that is funded by the NDIS and is included in NDIS Plans. Recovery Coaches are similar to Support Coordinators, however, they provide a recovery-based approach specifically for people whose primary disability arises from a mental health condition.

🌷 Recovery coaching is a contemporary way of working with people with a psychosocial disability. Recovery Coaches work collaboratively with you, your family, carers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan; and assist with the coordination of your NDIS supports and other mental health specific supports within the community.

Indigenous participant Kevin is accessing life changing supports 🌟

Kevin, who has an intellectual disability, has been able to access a range of confidence-building social activities and spend time with people his own age.

Soon after Kevin joined the Scheme, his life – and his father Greg’s role as carer – began to change.

Greg says the NDIS has helped Kevin to improve his social and communication skills and increase his independence.
