Before I started getting lessons I had been playing guitar for about two years teaching myself from the Internet and from friends. I came to a point where I felt I needed a teacher to help me progress and Sam took my playing to the next level. Sam can get into some intense music theroy, instructions on proper technique, fundamentals, proper use of metronomes or just give thoughts on anything musically. In lessons he has always been very insightful and easy going. Sam helped me realise my goals week to week and for the long term. Over a period of about 3 months he helped me prepare for an audition at Collarts music school where I had to perform one original song and one cover. Sam gave some great advice on song structure and dynamics for my original song. I was accepted into Collarts and started the following week. I highly recommend him whether you’re just starting out or if you want to take your playing to the next level or even if you just need someone to answer any of your guitar/music questions.

Sam’s guitar lessons are personally tailored to suit each and every student and can cover a variety of areas. Whatever style of music you’re interested in, Sam can help you to achieve your goals. Lessons are prepared and structured so that each student gets the most out of their lesson time. If you want forget about theory and simply learn your favourite riffs and chord progressions, that’s fine, if you want to study advanced theoretical concepts and compositional techniques, that’s okay too. Tuition is available to students 8 yrs and above and all abilities. Whether you’re a hobbyist, semi-professional musician, applying for music academy/university, or preparing for formal exams (AMEB etc.), Sam can provide you with the tuition you need. Styles: Rock, Pop, Blues, Folk, Jazz, Classical, Metal Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced Suitability: Ages 8 years and up Pricing: $35 half-hour, $60 full hour - lessons purchased in blocks of 5 As a teacher I pride myself on being able to find the balance between fun and professional; music lessons should be something that students look forward to each and every week. Not only do I go out of my way to make sure that students are enjoying their lessons, I ensure all lessons are prepared prior to the lesson being conducted to maintain relevance of content and value for money. Unlike many music schools, where lessons are conducted in cramped, dingy, rooms, Sam’s private studio is clean, spacious and comfortable, and you don’t have to put up with a drummer banging on the other side of the wall while you try to focus. Each student their first lesson free with no strings attached. This gives prospective students the opportunity to meet and spend time with Sam before committing to lessons. Students can discuss their goals and aspirations so that personalised lesson plans can be developed for subsequent lessons if they choose to enrol.
