Well this one went to K'Gari for a long overdue look ...
I was doing tours from Noosa to Fraser back in the naughties ... but it had been a while, so I packed up Nic & Sylviane and drove the beaches from Noosa to Fraser and spent 4 wonderful days on K'Gari.
Would you believe we even had more than an hour as the only ones at Lake Mckenzie (Boorangoora) with an early, early morning rise .... indescribable beautiful ...
add in whale watching in Hervey Bay, hiking, canoeing and laying by the pool, with magnificent forest, creeks, mangroves, lakes and beaches ...
if you haven't you should ..... if you have, you should do it again ...

Story time ....
just before Cyclone Gabrielle decided to near visit us a few weeks ago, we were on our way up to visit the lighthouse at Double Island Point & were blessed with one of my favourite wildlife encounters ever.
Schools of Spotted Eagle Rays were visible circling in the bay, in really shallow water. This went on for the whole week, we visited with them each day, with up to 20 rays on the first few days ... awesome
Mating behaviour, feeding, just being cool ....
your guess is as good as mine .... to me it looked like many males were very interested in getting to know this pretty lady ....
wonderful encounter ... love my job ...
always different, always beautiful ...
come along and join us .... who knows what we find ....

Always expecting the unexpected....
Recently; as we came along Teewah Beach, early doors, first tracks along the beach, no one else around .....
we found a Wallaby on the beach, unusual, interesting, never seen that before in all my years on the beach, awesome ...... noticed he didn't seem well, scared, limping & definitely DID NOT want to go back up into the dunes or the bush,
suspect there were "MONSTERS" waiting for him there ...
preferred the waters edge and the water ....
Next day, same area,
first Dingo I have seen on the beach for years .... though we do see tracks regularly ...... but he didn't hang around & I was not quick enough to get a pic.
Next day same area,
our poor little Wallaby had become part of the food chain and a magnificent White Bellied Sea Eagle was making the most of his opportunity .... All part of the circle of life
I am so privileged to get these glimpses of life in this wonderful National Park ....
