The Sweet Life - in Noosa
We bring you … The Sweet Life … Our new low-season campaign to capture the hearts of travellers as it transports them into a world of tranquil beauty and genuine connections in Noosa.
At the heart of the off-peak campaign is a 60-second mini-film set against iconic Noosa landscapes, capturing the essence of human connection and authentic moments, and inspiring travellers to discover and embrace the beauty of Noosa.
New campaign images will wrap billboards and buses across Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Sydney light rail banners. The video will air across 9 Now and 9 Travel, and Urbanlist and Concrete Playground.
We’ve also teamed up with Webjet and it features across Visit Noosa’s own digital and social media platforms.
Member cooperative ads across accommodation, tours, transfers and dining experiences will also showcase Noosa’s unique charm.
In collaboration with Sunshine Coast Airport, the campaign will also make the most of new direct flights between New Zealand and the Sunshine Coast.
As visitor data shows the allure of international travel for Australians continues to contribute to a softening in domestic travel, this campaign will remind travellers of Noosa’s place as a sanctuary where the sweet life unfolds so effortlessly - and it will inspire much-needed booking conversion from our key markets.
We hope you love our new video.

In great news for Kiwi visitors to Noosa, 👉Jetstar will launch year-round direct flights between the Sunshine Coast and Auckland later this year, and 👉Air New Zealand’s seasonal service starts this Wednesday 26 June ✈️
Jetstar has just announced the first year-round service between @Sunshine Coast Airport (Maroochydore) and Auckland – set to take off from 13 December 2024.
The new trans-Tasman flight is Jetstar’s first international service from the Sunshine Coast and will operate up to three times per week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
To celebrate, Jetstar is offering one-way fares from Sunshine Coast to Auckland from $215 – sale ends 10am AEST Tuesday 25 June 2024, unless sold out prior (Ts and Cs apply – see www.jetstar.com).
Tourism Noosa CEO Sharon Raguse (in video) said Noosa’s tourism industry would welcome the new year-round flights, giving Kiwi travellers even more opportunity for a relaxing Noosa holiday. NZ was Noosa’s highest spending international market in 2023, injecting $31m into the economy.
Sunshine Coast Airport Chief Executive Officer Chris Mills said: “I want to thank Jetstar, and the Queensland Government who provided vital funding to support this new service, along with our aviation partners @Visit Sunshine Coast and Tourism Noosa.
“New Zealand represents the region’s largest contingent of overseas visitors, and this new service will boost tourism, support local business and connect loved ones across the Tasman.”
In other great news, the Air New Zealand flights between Sunshine Coast and Auckland will operate 3 times a week until 25 October – perfect for Kiwis looking for a sunny winter escape ⛱ and for Noosa residents looking to hit the NZ snowfields this winter 🏂. See https://www.airnewzealand.com.au/
50 Shades of Green: An innovative guide for sustainable event management in Noosa.
We were thrilled to launch our 50 Shades of Green guide for sustainable event management today, an innovative roadmap to help organisers of large and small events in Noosa achieve sustainability goals - from energy to water, waste and much more 🌿
With practical tips, easy steps and a wealth of resources, 50 Shades of Green aims to strike a balance between economic prosperity, social responsibility, cultural preservation and environmental stewardship.
Tourism Noosa and our Plastic Free Noosa program developed the guide with the support of local organisations and experts who share a commitment to preserving Noosa's natural beauty and cultural heritage for future generations 💚
The guide follows the phases of event planning, from pre-event to during an event and post-event actions. Information covers areas such as:
✅ Obtaining Council permits
✅ Environmental risk assessments
✅ Community impacts
✅ Carbon emission reductions
✅ How to save on energy, water and waste to minimise environmental impacts while maximising positive contributions to the community.
It will help event organisers benchmark their efforts and improve with each event, and will be continually updated with new tools and information.
Thank you to everyone who has worked with us on this, and to the Noosa events that have already embraced the challenge to reduce their impacts 🙌

Tourism Noosa's tribute to Ironman's Noosa Triathlon
A thank-you from Tourism Noosa and our members as we celebrate 40 years of the Noosa Triathlon, showcasing its evolution into the iconic, world-class event it is today – kicking off tomorrow, with events through to race day this Sunday 🤩🙏
The video features memorable moments and heartfelt testimonials, and expresses gratitude to all participants, volunteers and supporters who have contributed to the event’s success over the years, highlighting the stunning natural beauty and community spirit that have made it a global sporting attraction ❤️
This striking new blue O Fountain (water refill station) in Lions Park on Gympie Terrace, Noosaville was painted by local indigenous artist Lyndon Davis and represents the traditional shell middens along the Noosa Foreshore.
The fountain has been a joint project between Unitywater, Noosa Council, Tourism Noosa and our Plastic Free Noosa program to encourage locals and visitors to ditch single-use plastic bottles and fill up their reusable water bottles with tap water.
Lyndon said his artwork represents large accumulations of shell material found in this area.
“Middens were formed from the discarded shells from the seafood eaten by the Kabi Kabi and were common along the banks of the Noosa River and Weyba, Doonella, Cooroibah and Cootharaba Lakes,” he said.
This is Noosa’s second O Fountain – the first is outside the Noosa Visitor Information Centre in Hastings Street.
Surfing, fun and reducing waste were a great combination at the recent Noosa Festival of Surfing! Working with our Plastic Free Noosa and Waste Warrior teams through our sustainable event guidelines, festival organisers are heading towards zero waste.
Local video production company and Tourism Noosa member Panga Productions put together this fantastic video showing some of the sustainability measures from this year’s festival, along with great surfing action. There’s also an inspiring message for how all beachgoers can take simple steps to help the environment, such as sorting and being responsible for your waste. Highlights include:
✅ This year’s event diverted more than 85% of all waste from landfill by providing 4 separate waste streams for disposal – composting, recycling, recycling containers and landfill
✅ The festival has saved 15,000 single-use water bottles since 2018 with the support of @Unitywater's Refill Van
✅ There were daily beach clean-ups during the festival – thanks to the wonderful volunteers who joined in
✅ The Beach Bar was a zero-waste venue, using keg beer, reusable cups and compostable packaging
✅ The festival was a carbon-positive event, with carbon emissions from competitors' travel and accommodation being offset by Eco Evo Surf and Tourism Noosa's Trees for Tourism program.
