Welcome to the official page of the Dinner Plain Geebung Polo match! A tradition held by many at Easter time, is to visit Dinner Plain in the Victorian High Country to take part in the Geebung Polo match. While the event is untraditional to most classic polo games, the match itself is still based on an Australian tradition, and is ingrained culturally by the poem “The Geebung Polo Club” written by

AB “Banjo” Patterson. Occurring annually for the past 24 years in the Victorian Alps, the match of strength and bravery originated from a “few quiet drinks” at the Dinner Plain Hotel. A mix of wild country blokes formed the institution known as the “Geebung Polo Club” rivalling the City Slickers “Cuff N’ Collar” Polo team. Who will win the survival of the fittest, in a game twisted with competitive sportsmanship and character, this year? Drawing crowds of over 3000 people the event hosts a fun day out for the whole family packed full with Live Music, Helicopter Rides & Easter Egg Drop, tug-o-war, food and wine stalls, fashions on the field, face painting, jumping castle and much more for the entire family. Bring a picnic rug and a chair, back up the car, sit back and relax! Dinner Plain brings you a lot more than the Geebung vs. Cuff and Collar Polo Match at Cobungra Station, but a host of Easter activities. Celebrate with your friends and family by breathing in the crisp Alpine air, take in sweeping vista views and relax in the pure high country this Easter.
