In the world of uncertainty about International and even Domestic travel due to our border closures and the need for a G2G Pass and potentially 14day quarantine, staycationing is becoming more popular.

Staycationing in our own state and city is a wonderful break from the daily routine such as cooking, cleaning and even work. You do not have to spend a lot but you will thankful for the break even if it is for a night or two.

So recharge the batteries, cancel the wake up alarm and hit us up for some wonderful deals we are able to get for you.

***WORLD KITCHEN WEDNESDAYS***
CHRISTMAS COOKIES FROM GERMANY

Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
• 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
• 1/2 teaspoon anise extract
• 1-1/2 cups chopped almonds
• 1/2 cup chopped candied citron
• Confectioners' sugar

Directions:
• Preheat oven to 180°. Combine first seven ingredients. In another bowl, combine eggs, butter, lemon peel and extract. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in almonds and citron.
• Shape into 2 cm balls and place 1 cm apart on greased baking sheets. Bake until set, 8-10 minutes. Roll warm cookies in confectioners' sugar; cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.

We will both be working on a reduced roster and once we know our days will let you all know. Can you remember the last time you got one of these? What are they you ask? Cheques.💸 Individual cheques that have travelled over 11,000kms with each of our customers' refunds. We still receive refunds by cheque in the mail from our US suppliers. From cruise lines to hotels, here's one of today's cruise refund deliveries to head office. So if you were wondering why your refund is taking a little longer than expected, it may be that the cheque is *literally* in the mail. ✉️

COVID-19 may have seen both Thelma and Sara have a break from the industry they love but we are still very passionate about travel. During this time we may not be able to assist in booking that dream trip but we are able to assist in the dreaming and research phase. To all our valued and treasured followers rest assured we are not going anywhere. We are just either taking a break looking after children (Sara) or looking after our customers cancellations with upmost care (Thelma). We both are looking forward to helping you with your future travel plans once the borders are open. Travel is in our blood and take this time like us to research your next travel destination with a glass of wine or two.

If you have a trip booked through a travel agent that has been disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak, please please please be nice to your travel agent! We are working within our power to get the best options for you. Yes, some options aren’t ideal, like having to pay for changes, or copping cancellation fees on a refund, but the situation is out of our control, and we can only feasibly do what the suppliers will let us do. We are all stressed, overwhelmed, exhausted, and some of us are also coping with the disruption of our own travels that were booked during this time.

So again... be nice to your agent! Be patient with them! We are working in your best interests!
