Felt like we had to return to Augusta before turning for home. I really love this beautiful little spot. It’s still remote & quaint. I guess it won’t last long and the locals tell us property sales are moving exponentially since COVID.
On our way we passed through a DPAW burn off. Not that I could see any information on websites about a porpoises burn! I wasn’t keen to drive this section of road & would have taken a different route had I known.

A breeze by Karri Valley Resort. Not keen on their new caravan park, which is off the road on the roadside. Not to be confused with their resort Villas next to the lake. The lakeside villas are in a beautiful location. Even the Emus love it.

Not quite done with walking forests & southwest waterfalls. Into Beedelup falls just out of Pemberton. Lovely morning walk around across the swing bridge. Wished I had more time to wander the tracks on this lovely bush land.

Walking The Cascades Pemberton.

A drive out to The Cascades, Pemberton. A lovely gentle walk and. Of course, more wildflowers, makes me happy! Water. Trees. Flowers and a track to follow.

Had to have a go at climbing one of the last fire lookout trees. Dave Evans bicentennial. Perhaps you younger fellas would like to go all the way to the top. I was surprised how easy the gradient of poles made it.

There were lots of spots, but we chose this one by Lefroy River. Not too far from ablutions. Used a tarp at entrance to van to reduce mud transfer. Don’t forget the pegs & mallet to hold it down. Or get some other heavier matting from a place like Clark Rubber.

Sunset & snacks at Coalmine caravan park. Lovely spot sheltered under the peppermint trees. Apparently Walpole has lots of power outages. Many have backup generators!! Seems we landed a night without power & no backup generator for us.
Managed anyway. Gas hot water & stove invaluable. Took the toaster up to the ablutions where the laundry was supported with a generator. Worked a treat.

A trap for novices. We thought you could plug your battery powered fridge into the cigarette lighter. Wondered why it wasn’t so cold. Discovered the ‘proper’ battery plug under the other. All working fine now 🙄😬😂

Lovely to arrive and set up camp on Nornalup Inlet. It was calm, sunny & mild. Wildlife welcomed us. Birds chattering.

Insect migration day. Driving to Coalmine Beach caravan park Walpole. Had to strip @ clean windscreen twice there were so many insects!

Onto Denmark. One of my favourite spots in WA. Denmark river, pretty, peaceful & relaxing. A wine tasting at Singlefile Winery & a bite to eat & glass of wine at The Lakehouse. Now we are travelling too fast again. Feeling like we are on the home run 😕. So much to see and do in Denmark. Will be back sometime.

Toast for breakfast? RV toasters must be used outside otherwise smoke alarm goes off 😁. Arrived Albany to meet friends & some family. Dinner out. More ‘civilised’ here, overnight in a Big4 Emu Beach Holiday village. Very clean, tidy and super organised. Lovely day for the beach. Warm & sunny. Those amazing Vistas across Oyster Harbour, Middleton Beach of much loved spots. So much to do here. But we are moving along. Albany is easy access for us. Another time.
So impressed by Albany Beachway United Fuel providing Driveway service. Thanks to you!

Driving into Stirling Ranage National Park. Off to Mt Trio that holds some special memories. But first time I’ve seen the devastation of last summers wild bushfires. Over 2/3rds of park ravaged by severe fires. Dreadful. Whilst the bush tends to regenerate, it takes years and rain. Dryer seasons makes it feel and look near impossible. Yet there is a little spark in a couple of flowers purple & yellow pocking heads out of the black ash! Hoping it returns to its full glory. ❤️

New fresh day at Tozer’s bush camp. More interesting wildflowers. So lucky with the diversity.

Driving onto Hamersley Inlet. Part of Fitzgerald River NP experience. It was drizzly & cold, just a front coming through, part of the experience this time of year. Better than flies, mosquitos and extreme heat. Loved exploring this remote wild place ❤️

East Mount Barren Lookout, Fitzgerald River. Stunning array of wildflowers. “Squisite” this is a wonderful place to explore. Sure it is different every season. So happy to be here.
