We did it (again)!
The NTIA Awards are like the Logie Awards but for the travel industry and where the best of the best are recognised. Last night we took out the Most Outstanding Mobile Advisor Network for the win!

I joined the TravelManagers family 6 years ago and haven't looked back- it's been the best career/business decision I ever made.

I'm very grateful that I get to do what I love every day, support my family whilst still having the time to be a Mum, get given the most amazing opportunities and live the adventurous life I live all with the support of these guys!

Lauren and her family were one of three families I had the pleasure of booking to Thailand recently. They enjoyed a stay in the Patong Beach area, followed by some relaxing time at a beautiful resort at Karon Beach. Having seen photos of their holiday (many of which had cocktails, beers, local food and pool views in them 😆), the Cooking Class looked like alot of fun and some great adventures were had of their own!

Today I attended a special VIP lunch at Crown hosted by the CEO of Travel Oregon and the Chair of Brand USA.

For someone that sells ALOT of the US, Oregon has never been on my radar.... until today.

Some fun facts about Oregon you may not have known-

Did you know Oregon is home to the deepest lake in the US in Crater Lake National Park (if you love hiking this is the place for you)?

Most of the mountain ranges that surround Portland are actually dormant volcanoes!

It's a place you'll love if you love outdoor adventures such as hiking, skiing, kayaking, biking, rock climbing and even fly fishing.

Oregon is renowned for its wine, especially Pinot Noir (yes please!)

Portland is known for its hip vibe craft beer scene and local food.

And the best part... there's no state sales tax in Oregon! That means you can enjoy Oregon without the extra costs that come with taxes in most other states.

LET'S TALK ABOUT JETLAG...

Jetlag occurs when your body's internal clock is out of sync with a new time zone. It can cause fatigue, disorientation, and often days of some serious grumpiness!

Here are some tips to help overcome it 🥱

1. **Stay Hydrated**: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your flight to combat dehydration.

2. **Limit Alcohol and Caffeine**: Both can disrupt your sleep, so minimize their intake before and during the flight.

3. **Use Sleep Aids Wisely**: If necessary, consider melatonin or other sleep aids, but consult a doctor first.

4. **Get Sunlight**: Spend time outside in natural light upon arrival to help reset your circadian rhythm.

5. **Eat Light Meals**: Choose lighter, easily digestible foods during the flight and after arriving to avoid discomfort.

6. **Take Short Naps**: If you’re extremely tired, limit naps to 20-30 minutes to avoid disrupting you

7. **Create a Restful Environment**: Use earplugs and an eye mask to block out noise and light when sleeping.

7. **Give Yourself Time**: Allow a few days to fully adjust to the new time zone, and listen to your body as it adapts.

NEW MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR TRAVEL TO BALI...

Effective immediately, there is a new mandatory health declaration that you are required to complete prior to arrival.

To help mitigate the spread of MPox (AKA MonkeyPox), visitors must complete an electronic self-declaration form known as the SATUSEHAT Health Pass. After completing the form you'll receive a barcode that authorities will scan upon arrival.

TIP- Take a screenshot of the barcode in case your phone can't connect to WiFi!

This lovely family travelled to London, Nice and Rome and spent some time in Sicily before boarding a Mediterranean cruise to explore the Greek Islands. Lastly, they finished their trip with a luxurious stay in Dubai before heading home :-)

What better way to celebrate 6 years in business than on a coffee date with one of my most favourite clients.

This is Julie-Anne. She's just returned from her big solo European adventure and I just couldn't wait to hear all about it!

There are just some people in life you feel so instantly connected with and that you think you needed to cross paths with in this lifetime and for me, she's one of those people. We catch up for our coffee dates at 'our cafe', talk about life and of course our big love of travel. Her infectious personality and love of life always leaves me inspired.

She's one of many that make me realise how fortunate I am to be doing what I love every single day so thank you to everyone that has supported me and my business for the last six years and my journey so far, I couldn't have done it without you!

EOFY is done and dusted and on the weekend I took some time to take a breath and reflect on what a phenomenal year I'd just had.

To say it's been a busy one has been an understatement. I smashed my two biggest goals within the first 6 months, have been fully booked with appointments 2 weeks in advance for most of the year and had so many great opportunities presented to me.

At the end of the month it'll be six years since I started my business and I have to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported me and my business not only this year but from the very start... couldn't have done it without you!!!

This is certainly no surprise to me as it's becoming quite a popular thing to do!

It brings back memories of a lady I knew many years ago who lost her husband and didn't want her children putting her in a home. Herself and her husband were avid cruisers and with such a zest for life she decided to continue travelling in memory of him. At the age of 70 she decided to book back to back world cruises and explore the world by herself. Two adjoining cabins were always confirmed.... one for her and the other for all her frocks!

This is your friendly reminder to check your passport's expiry date. Most countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months from the end of your planned stay (otherwise, you may be refused entry).

The cost of obtaining an Australian passport is also increasing by 15% on 1st July so if your passport is due for renewal soon, now is a good time to kick off the process!

10 year passports (16 years +) are currently $346, increasing to $401
5 year childrens passports are currently $175, increasing to $202
You will also be able to pay an additional $100 to have your passport issued with 5 business days.

One of my clients contacted me yesterday evening whilst I was in my Uber on the way to Cairns Airport, requiring urgent assistance to make a booking for travel today due to a death in the family overseas. This is me at the airport last night, a Sunday night, laptop out and amongst the chaos assisting my client. We changed Villas today because that's what Travel Agents do! To experience a different room type is such valueable experience and im so glad we did. For the next 3 nights we're in a Beach Pool Villa and I've got to say I love it! The room is exactly the same as the Deluxe Water Pool Villa we've stayed. The only differences are that the Living Area is smaller, the pool is slightly smaller and the bathtub doesn't have an ocean view (for privacy reasons I'd say). We have our own private beach, amazing snorkelling on our doorstep and the biggest notable difference is it is soooo much quieter and calmer.
