Recently I hiked for 10 days with 4 woman through the ancient forests of Japan. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. There is so much power in walking with woman. The conversations, reflections, laughter, emotions, tears and encouragement all held by one another. Tomorrow is our wild womens walk, come join me and get a sense for what it is like to walk with women in a mindfull way.

I am currently hiking the kumano kodo trail in Japan and the trees and ancient forest here is beautiful. I now understand why forest bathing originated here in Japan. Walking through these forests is healing, purifying and relaxing.

Getting my kids outdoors in the holidays is a must. They often complain and don’t want to go but I take them anyway. Why do I do this?
Because every time they have a fantastic day, they return home happier and I find being in nature opens up the creativity pathways, so I hear a lot less “I’m bored’” from them and a lot more creative play and exploration.
Our holiday program is a great way to get the kids outdoors, feeding their need for social stimulation and it gives you a bit of space for yourself. We would love to see your kids there.

Our cedar creek hike today was stunning. The light sprinkle of rain made for extra fun in the waterfalls and on the rock slides.
You never know who you will meet at bush kids. Look at this beautiful goanna exploring the new creek space just like the kids are after the floods.
The bush kids waterhole had a good flush out last night. Samford had over 300mm of rain and the river rose over 7m! The climbing tree went under water. It’s going to look quite different when the river level drops!
This is a waterhole nearby after the rain yesterday. We will be back for Epic creek plays on Thursday.

Our teen homeschool group completed a team raft challenge and it was a success. Team work makes the dream work.
Creative thinking, problem solving and persistence are just some of the learning outcomes of our bush kids homeschoolers. After making rafts the children realised they had no paddles and the sticks they used were inefficient. So they came up with a solution, connecting rope together from one side of the creek to the other allowed them to pull themselves across. Giving children space to be frustrated at where they are at allows for new creative ideas to be birthed. Summer holiday program bookings are on the website now. Teen homeschooling program raft building was a huge success.
Our teens have worked hard all morning to build their raft. It has taken a lot of problem solving, team work, creative thinking and trial and error but they have successfully set sail. We are very proud of their hard work and dedication. #homeschool #youthinnature
