Scored 10 out of 10
We were 2 couples with high attention to detail & the hosts had thought
about EVERYTHING. The host, Max, was super responsive to our upfront
questions & sent very clear instructions. Nothing was too much trouble.
This cleverly & tastefully renovated house is a home-from-home which
contained everything one could possibly want for a relaxing stay - fully
stocked kitchen with water filter, comfy beds, thick walls providing sound
proofing, individually zoned rooms for heating/cooling, a formal
lounge and dining/kitchen overlooking large private garden, outdoor dining
setting & BBQ. The quality of linen, towels, bath robes, toiletries, etc.
did not go unnoticed. Only a few minutes walk to supermarket, cafes,
restaurants & bars. 2 nights was definitely not enough time to fully enjoy
everything this house has to offer AND see the local area (we felt torn
how to spend our time). We will definitely return. It was fabulous!”

The top 6 finalists in the 2024 Wotif Aussie Town of the Year Awards were announced yesterday.

Providing inspiration on where to travel in Australia in 2024, the awards are based on a data index which considers each destination’s accommodation quality, affordability, and traveller satisfaction on Wotif.com in 2023.

From iconic heritage buildings to the beauty of the Barossa ranges and surrounding vineyards, Mayor Bim Lange says there’s so much that makes Tanunda, located in the heart of the region, a popular visitor destination.
“As well as our restaurants and cellar doors, Tanunda is on the doorstep to a wide range of eco-tourism attractions, including walking and cycling trails, lakes and nature-based wellness experiences,” Mayor Lange says.
“Tanunda is also the destination for our many events, from arts and culture festivals to major sporting events like the Santos Tour Down Under.
“It’s the total package and it’s just waiting to be discovered! It really is no surprise that Tanunda is such a popular destination.”

Cookery books evoke the spirits of the past and encourage new generations to reflect upon the women who wrote the recipes and passed them on. The Barossa Cookery book is but one - albeit one that is treasured here in the Barossa.

In a world where recipes can be accessed with a keystroke, well-thumbed, old cookbooks can provide more than nostalgia and the comforts of home — they're a snapshot of who we are and where we've come from.
