The Santos Tour Down Under is returning to the Barossa in 2025!

Mayor Bim Lange welcomed this morning's announcement that Tanunda will host the start and finish of Health Partners Stage 2 on Wednesday 22 January, saying it’s a coup for the entire Barossa.

“The Santos Tour Down Under is part of the Barossa’s events DNA, so we’re thrilled to see the race return to our region again in 2025,” Mayor Lange said.

“A start and finish gives us the opportunity to really showcase the best of the Barossa on a world stage, and the 25th anniversary is sure to be something truly special.”

Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Stuart O’Grady OAM said the Barossa had delivered big race moments from the get-go.

“2025 will be the 14th time the Barossa has featured in the Santos Tour Down Under, and for good reason," Stuart said.

“This year's route is a nod back to the original 1999 race which also included the harder side of Mengler Hill. Fans will be able to settle in for a thrilling day of world class racing and watch the action unfold.”

It’s fantastic to see wine trade resuming with China and that the Barossa Valley is amongst the first wine regions in Australia promoting the region and its wines where they have done so well in the past so there is obvious pent up demand. We have hosted guests from China and Asia at Whiterocks over the years and always gained excellent reviews from these visitors

eVTOL racing - you may ask what is it all about, well until recently I hadn't heard of it but now I'm a fan. (electric) Vertical Take Off and Landing aircraft or flying cars and their pilots and crew took part in an event last week at Stonefield Airport (near the Barossa Valley) about 40 km east of Tanunda. We were very pleased to host 4 of their team at Whiterocks Tanunda and the feedback they gave a us is very pleasing 'full marks' on every score they said in their 5 star review, thank you Leanne and the team. They rated Whiterocks Tanunda as 'superb location, comfortable, clean, peaceful and fantastic facilities' and we are so pleased to have played a small part in this exciting event. They were fantastic guests and we certainly hope to see them back again next year
