At this time of the year when the temperature difference between night and morning is greater, we are treated to interesting misty cloud formations along Mt Roland. Yet another gorgeous view! ❤️.

Popped in to the Sheffield Hotel Pub this afternoon having not been in there for a while. Very impressed with the changes that the new owners have made! The atmosphere is a lot more classy, clean, bright, tastefully uncluttered, yet cosy. The new paintwork looks amazing! A sense of real care. When all other options for a late afternoon coffee were closed or closing, we can’t complain about the service we received.

In Tasmania’s high country, April is fagus season – the perfect reason to plan an autumn adventure.

Fagus (Nothofagus gunnii) is Tasmania’s only winter-deciduous native tree and as its leaves start to turn, entire hillsides blaze with shades of russet, orange and gold.

This endemic species thrives in cool, wet locations, typically above 800m. To wander among colourful stands and see splashes of vibrant leaves sweeping the slopes, head to the Tarn Shelf (3hr return or 5-7hr circuit) at Mount Field National Park in the island's south. In the north west, try Weindorfers Forest Walk (20min), Dove Lake (2-3hr) and Crater Lake (2hr) at the northern reaches of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.

Today, 5 years ago we welcomed our very first guests to Manna Hill Farm. Yesterday we experienced 7 rainbows, a resounding promise of a great future ahead of us. The first picture shows the 7th a double. The next two pictures are our gardens today and the last photos taken 5 years ago. Thank you to all who have been instrumental in helping us get to where we are today and especially to all the many many wonderful guests that we’ve met and had the privilege of welcoming to our little heaven on earth over the years!
