🚵 Kosovo was the last country we explored during our criss-cross exploration of the Balkans and thus came last in line to be published 🎥 on our channels. You will enter the country from neighboring North Macedonia near the Šar Mountains, cycle through Prizren, Gjakova and finally Peja right on the edge of the Dinaric Mountains ⛰, where you will then continue towards Montenegro.
Four stages are planned in the country, and it should be added that for an real cultural experience it is worth staying for another day, in lively Prizren or Peja at the end of the beautiful Rugova Valley. 🗺 We have also prepared three useful (and beautiful!) connections for logistical combinations - to Valbona in Albania, Gusinje in Montenegro and to the capital Pristina ✈️

🚴/🏔 In Montenegro, expect exactly what its name promises: mountains, mountains and more mountains! Immediately after crossing the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, it will be necessary to push the pedals 🚵♂️🚵♀️, but once you conquer Durmitor, a mountainous plateau, the life of a cyclist will be easier - and beautiful 😎
If somewhere, then in Žabljak in the heart of Durmitor, we recommend that you spend two, maybe three nights and explore the surroundings on foot 🥾, by bike (without luggage), maybe on a horse 🐴 or raft 🛶
When the Trans Dinarica will lead you to the southeast, expect ... Yes, more mountains; the lesser-known area of the Komovi mountain range ⛰ are the last climb before you'll leave the country and enter Albania.
The journey through Montenegro will be demanding, but extremely wonderful.

🏡 Slovenia, our home country, is the northernmost country on the Trans Dinarica cycle route and, according to the planned direction of the route, the first of the eight countries. Because of its geographical, economic and cultural position somewhere on the border from the Balkans and the so-called Western Europe is the best start for someone who wants to discover this part of the planet for the first time 🚲
In Slovenia, Trans Dinarica 🚴♀️ will take you from the edge of the Triglav National Park through the Soča Valley to three wine-growing 🍇 regions, the Goriška Brda, the Vipava Valley and the Karst, and finally to the lesser-known but no less beautiful area of Brkini and Ilirska Bistrica.
📍 We have also prepared an alternative route that visits two of the most famous sights in Slovenia, Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle.

The Trans Dinarica Cycle Route 🚵 takes you away from the most visited tourist spots, through the stunning Velebit Nature Park and under Mount Dinara, which gave this bicycle route its name. However, the route plan allows you to visit the island of Pag and the beautiful seaside towns of Zadar and Split 🐬
