Archeological Excursion to Moinamoti
Depart from Dhaka in the early morning for Moinamoti which is about 114 km southeast of Dhaka and well connected by road the journey will take two and half hours time. on arrival you will visit "War cemetery" where you can see the graveyard of the soldiers died in the Myanmar front during the World War-2. Drive to the Archeological camp where the Salbon Vihar and the Museum are located. Excavated Buddhist remains of 8th/9th century are dotted all the way along the north - south running Lalmai - Moinamoti - hill range. From here the following adjacent sites you may also visit: Ananda Vihar, Charpatra Mura, Itakhola Mura, Rupban Mura, Kutila Mura and Triratna Stupa. Among these, the Ananda Vihara, the Charpatra Mura and the Kutila Mura are situated within the Moinamoti Cantonment are therefore, prior permission of the cantonment authorities is necessary for the visit. After lunch at Miami restaurant we will drive back to Dhaka. On the way back, we will stop at Sonargaon, the oldest city, which was the capital of Bengal from 13th - 17th century for sight-seeing. Day 1: Start from Dhaka by the Rocket Steamer Service run by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC). At present, this service is open for 4 days a week (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from Dhaka, leaving at 1800 hours. On this trip, we shell provide first class cabin accommodation in twin bed on boat. Food is not included, but you can buy food from the restaurant on the boat. Day 2: make more fun this whole day on the boat enjoying the riverine scenic beauty and the country side along the river ways Arrival in Mongla & over night at Pashore Hotel with the help of our guide. Back to Jessore via Khulna to take the return afternoon flight back to Dhaka upon arrival transfer to your residence. Day 01: Depart Dhaka by air in the morning for Chittagong. On arrival at Chittagong airport our guide will receive and transfer you to Rangamati by reserved car/coach. The distance is 77 km. it takes two hours to arrive there to check inn at the parjatan Hotel / eco-resort in Rangamati for lunch. On the way to rangamati we will be stopped at checkpoints, where the entry of Foreign Tourists is controlled. We kindly suggest you to carry your passport with you. In the afternoon sightseeing of Rangamati town and its surrounding will be arranged for you. Day 02: Today we shall show you as much of this beautiful place as possible: the day's activities include a boat-cruise on Kaptai Lake, a visit to tribal village, swimming, etc. In the afternoon we will take you out for a short sightseeing tour of the local tribal museum (if open), boat cruise upstream to shuvolong, a Buddhist temple, the Chakma King’s palace, handicraft centers, souvenir shops and a nearby tribal village. Back to the hotel by evening. Day 03: You will leave Rangamati early in the morning and drive to Chittagong., visit to the interesting Chittagong Ethnological Museum (if open) ; Potenga sea beach , world war cemetery and lunch at a local restaurant you will continue on to Chittagong airport to take the domestic afternoon flight back to Dhaka.
