Our Story
Though Golpata became Bangladesh’s first B&B in 2013, our story began in 2003, at shelter for impoverished children in Savar. One day, while Ms. Joanna was searching for a way to stabilize funding for the shelter, she met Mr. Mahadi, a major who served in Bangladeshi military and UN Mission for 16 years before dedicating his life to various social enterprises.
Together, they started to discuss how to reinvent tourism, one that not only turns profits into direct benefits for local community members, but can also fund education, careers, and lives in need, while delivering the most memorable human experiences for our visitors. Golpata is the result of their dreams.
