How far is the house from the airport, downtown Natal & Ponta Negra? The house is approximatly 40 minutes from Natal (NAT) airport by taxi. Ponta Negra beach is approximatly 20 minutes from the house.
2. Many of our guests do not rent a car. However, the house is in a small fishing village so it depends on the kind of getaway you desire. There are several restaurants as well as shopping in the village that are within walking distance, and small market for groceries (a large supermarket is a 15 minute taxi ride away). Most sights can be seen with tour operators that will come to the house (in many cases) to pick you up. To see the greater area a car is recommended and we can have one delivered to the house if you so desire.
3. Is there a kitchen? We have two kitchens, one traditional indoor and one exterior . All utensils that you could need are included as well as bottled drinking water. The exterior kitchen features, in addition to the traditional bbq, a wood-fired pizza oven, granite counter tops and a sink.
4. How many does the house sleep? We have three bedrooms each with a private bath and a queen-sized bed. A Casa de Gebipabu has a guest limit of six (6) people at the house.
5. Can we have our meals cooked for us? Breakfast and maid service are included. However, extra services such as laundry and preparing your lunch & dinner are not. If you would like these services we ask that you tip the help for their extra efforts over and above their normal duties (and, of course, you will need to purchase any food you want from the local market). We have an information book located at the house that outlines tipping guidelines.
6. What is there to see and do in the area? Our information book at the house has suggestions for resturants, shopping, local tours, things to see and do and much much more. The list is too long to mention here, but a couple highlights include: Forte dos Reis Magos built in the 1500's to repel french invaders. Coastal Buggy Tour, a highly recommended tour of the wild and scenic beaches of the north coast. Taking a stroll alomg the beach to Bar 21 for lunch is very nice way to spend an afternoon.
