all in one tour - enjoy the Coral Gardens and the famous Shark Ray Alley. Your guide and round-trip transportation will be waiting for you just outside your Belize cruise ship terminal building. The friendly guide will get your checking in and off on your adventure. Your boat ride will take about 35 minutes to the northeast to the Coral Gardens. This is an area of the coral reef that is "blooming" with color with fish, coral, sponges and amazing marine life. Your guide will pass out your snorkeling gear and demonstrate how to use it all - mask, snorkel, fins and flotation vest. The guide will then assist you into the warm, clear aqua blue water on a guided snorkel. Here you will enjoy some of the best snorkeling on the world's second largest coral barrier reef. Some of numerous varieties of coral you will see there include elkhorn, staghorn, pencil coral and more all growing among the yellow sponges and purple sea fans. Do not forget your camera for this. You will have about 45 minutes of snorkeling with your guide here before returning to the boat. The second snorkeling location is just a few minutes away - Shark Ray Alley. Once again, your guide will assist you into the water for another unforgettable experience. You will be in the water with the harmless and docile stingrays and brown nurse sharks. Both of these marine creatures are accustomed to humans and the "snacks" of fish they are fed. They have been interacting with people for years and are non-aggressive and curious about the snorkelers. The guide will be in the water and you might be able to even pet one! If you would rather sit this part out on the boat, there is not a problem just to watch. From Shark Ray Alley, the guide will take you to Caye Caulker Island for a break on the beach. The island is small with a population of just over 1,000 residents. The island dates back to about 1850's and started off as a sleepy fishing village. The island still has its quaint charm where you will find cafes, stores and food carts where you can purchase refreshments and lunch. There will be time to browse the shops or relax on the beach before heading back. Your boat will take you back to your Belize cruise terminal at the end of the excursion. A variety of boats are used with maximums ranging for 15 to 35 participants.
