Does it cost more to use a travel agent?
The quick answer is no - not if you book with me. But here's the skinny...
Fees depend on the agent or agency. Some of the services we offer pay us little to nothing, but still take up a lot of our time. So, some agents charge an extra booking fee for those, or even a research fee just to answer your questions.
Booking with me means no service fees. I am paid by the suppliers we sell or sometimes not at all. It's a commission that only a travel agent can access and it doesn't affect your price at all. If I'm not paid it, the supplier just keeps it. From reputable suppliers, what you see, I can match. I have resources ONLY travel agents have access to. For example, the go travel team is across the country with 42 years behind its name, part of an international consortium and our tools allow us to look at more than one vendor to get you what you want.
Depending on the supplier, I may even be able to beat it or package it in a different way that gets you some additional perks. To find out, all you have to do is ask. And I can try to help steer you away from "too good to be true" deals - the Internet is full of them.
Here's the biggest difference between booking with me and booking on-line. It supports someone local you know, who truly cares that you have a great vacation, and has your back if something goes wrong. Because let's face it, if you travel at all, you know a lot of stuff can go wrong. And if I can't get you the best price, I'm not going to lie to you. I want you to maximize your travel budget.
Last but not least - I appreciate your business! I generally provide a small gift - my way of saying thank you in a very competitive industry 😊
