Thank you ALL for your patience with our restaurant and bathrooms being closed for the last two days. They will be closed again tomo, Wed. OCT. 23. Clint and his crew, of generous workers are doing maintenance work. "It's gotta happen sooner or later". Maintenance ... one thing leads to another. Getting it done before winter sets in. Will post, if all is up and operating by Thursday. Appreciate your patience and understanding. AND "a big high five" to all of the guys doing the work, even through the cold rain today. The store is open. Wendy will be there to greet you and help as much as she always does. There are three easy to access REST STOPS near us..... one is Aramus Lake .. just 20 minutes east of Atikokan, the Height of Land, about 20 minutes east of Quetico North and Huronian way side rest about 25 minutes east of us. Look for the "Picnic table signs" Sorry for the inconvenience, we know alot of you rely on us for the washroom services. Thank you and PLEASE SHARE so other travellers are aware of NO Washrooms and NO restaurant facilities . THANK YOU.

Thank you Paddling Magazine for this tribute to Spitzii. I still think of him every day and it makes me smile to see the same traits in Spitziii! It's hard to put into words the feelings of loss when it comes to losing a best friend after the adventures we've been on. From the bottom of our hearts thank you! and thank you Harold Maki for sending us this! It made a great day better! Spitzii lives on my friends!

"The canoeist does not journey through a trackless wilderness. The canoeist journeys through the past.

Your canoe travels the same route canoes have traveled before. You see the same islands others have seen. You pass the same shoreline others have passed. You walk the same portages others have walked. The cycle of your journey is the cycle of other journeys."
