Here we go for cottage 4. This is our only 1 bedroom cottage. We try our best to bring the beach and island feel in every cottage. When remodeling we also try, as best as we can, to repurpose furniture, lamps or other objects, by giving them a new life, changing the finish or modifying it to suit what we need. This cottage is super sweet! Have fun with the virtual tour.

At Goodview we pride ourselves at running our rental cottages in an eco friendly way! Our laundry schedule revolves around the weather. Unless it rains for a week straight, we don't use a dryer, instead, all of our linens dry out on the line in fresh PEI air. We also use non toxic, non animal tested cleaners for all of our cleaning. And those are just some of the things we do to keep it eco friendly. We believe there's a way to greener vacations.

We arrived 48 hours ago. It's opening season. We've already been blessed with a stunning sunset, a rainbow, and today a nice sunny, breezy day, perfect for hanging laundry. The sea was wavy. What's not to love about this place?

Nous sommes arrivés il y a 48 heures. C'est l'ouverture des chalets. Nous avons déjà eu la chance d'avoir un magnifique coucher de soleil, un arc-en-ciel et aujourd'hui une belle journée ensoleillée accompagné d'une brise constante, parfaite pour étendre la literie, en gardant un regard sur les vagues qui s'agitaient sur la mer. Difficile de ne pas aimé cet endroit!

Bubbling spring water. Literally on the beach. In Stanhope. It was amazing to see. We even tasted it. Fresh cold water. How awesome is that??

The milkweeds are in full bloom. I've witnessed a couple of Monarch butterflies feeding. Every year I look forward to observing them. Milkweeds are a great way to attract them.

At Goodview, we pride ourselves at being as eco friendly as possible. Everything from the products we use, hanging our linen using solar and wind power instead of electricity, to our gardens, everything we do is done with reducing our impact on the eco system. Even when we remodel the cottages, instead of throwing away and buying new, we do our best to reuse everything by giving it a new life.

The aftermath of Fiona at Goodview.
So we were fortunate to have neighbors that could go assess the situation. Overall, we've been very lucky. A lot of mature trees broke or were uprooted. But nothing fell on the buildings. So a major clean up ahead and sad to have lost so many beautiful mature trees. But again, considering the extent of the damage all over the island, we are among the fortunate ones.

Another wonderful day on the island. Today, my long time returning client, Rosie and I found this baby chickadee that had fallen out of the nest. Took us a while to locate the nest. The parents found a nice safe place for it, in the trunk of the tree. So we were able to place the chick back in the nest. The chicks parents seemed delighted. They kept bringing food back to the nest. We were sooooo excited about saving this little life. How sweet of an experience for a nature lover like me and a bird lover/photographer such as Rosie. 💗🐣🐦

One of my favorite thing about the location of our cottages is, that we are located within the boundaries of national park. This floating platform is a 5 minute bike ride from the cottages. Perfect for my morning yoga practice. I feel so grateful.

Another perfect summer day on the island with a typical sea breeze. This is my view, everyday, while hanging linen and gardening. I never get tired of it.

This morning's sky over the water. We're always amazed at how beautiful it is here in Stanhope. We feel so grateful to be here. Can't wait to finally see our guests.
