Today is National Embroidery Day celebrated in Ukraine and abroad! The Vyshyvanka (embroidered blouse or shirt) is an important symbol of Ukraine and its rich culture heritage. It unites all Ukrainians. especially in this time of war where Ukraine's nation and culture are being threatened.

Among other things, you will find out how Ukrainian art, music and cuisine help to understand Ukraine, who are ‘rusyny’ and why ‘ruskie pierogi’ are in fact ‘Ukrainian varenyky’, why the independence of Ukraine is a key for European security and much more.

Ivana-Kupala, or night of Ivana-kupala is a traditional holiday celebrated in Ukraine on the night of the 6th of July. Related to the summer solstice, it includes all-night celebrations full of exciting rituals and fun festivities. On Kupala Night, people would build bonfires, dance, and jump over fires to cleanse themselves, practice fortune-telling rituals, such as floating beautiful wreaths on rivers and lakes trying to ascertain their future by the fate of their wreath and search for the fern flower that only blooms that eve and is said to bring good fortune to the person who finds it.
