We are excited for this post to show our guests who are unfamiliar with the area the beauty they will be diving into!

Just a 2 1/2 hour drive around the Cabot Trail in Ingonish is where we want to bring you in this post!

The gondola at Ski Cape Smokey gives you a birds eye view of Ingonish & the Cape Breton Highlands!

Also in the pictures is 1 of our favourite places to stay, the Keltic Lodge at the Highlands where we were lucky enough on this stay to see a full moon rising over the main lodge!

When exiting towards the Trans Canada Highway you also have the option to take a cool little ferry to get there!

Lakeland Cottages is the perfect 1st stop on your travel itinerary if you plan on travelling the Cabot Trail from the west side of the island or if you choose to do the trail from the east & exit on the west we are your last destination before heading back to the mainland!

A reminder to anyone planning on visiting Cape Breton Highlands National Park this long weekend 🍂:

Visits will be slightly different than in previous years due to the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. While some trails and facilities are closed, the Cabot Trail and several of our hiking trails are open. We thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we continue work to reopen the park.
