Happy Studios Saturday! 🪄

Today I'm focusing on my absolute favourite queue at Universal Orlando Resort , Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey! Dare I say, this is my favourite queue of any ride, anywhere.

The queue for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is an adventure in itself. Wandering through the halls of Hogwarts Castle, past Dumbledore's office and the Gryffindor common room. Every corner is packed with amazing details that make the wait feel like part of the journey!

bonus: we actually got stuck on this ride temporarily and the lights came on, and I was so cool looking around and seeing how this ride actually functions. I had no idea how it worked and was amazed at what actually goes on behind the scenes. There's even YouTube videos about it that I've now watched. Anyway I've rambled enough. Happy Saturday!

When Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens on June 28, it will use the Virtual Queue system for a short time (like Tron & Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind), and it will also be available via Genie+ Lightning Lane service. No standby line will be available to ride during the initial opening period.

How great is this height indicator at the entrance of Universal Orlando Resort Islands of Adventures!

I knew going that our oldest son was able to go on most rides, and this confirmed that he was indeed tall enough for everything (despite me wishing that he perhaps wasn't 😅). But it was even more helpful for easily identifying, before we entered the park, which rides our 5 year old could ride safely. 🎢

10/10 for this handy little height checker!

📸 Time to review the Universal Photo Package! 📸

It's kind of long, so buckle up.

I knew going into the photo package purchase that it was no comparison to Disney’s Memory Maker. That’s been made very clear in everything I’ve read (and I’m very much in love with the Memory Maker package). That being said, I really wanted to give Universal’s package a try for myself, as well to advise my Universal clients.

The package can be purchased as a single day, 3 day, or 5 day (or strictly Volcano Bay package). I purchased the 5 day package, as we were there for 5 days. At the end of the trip I think we had less than 40 pictures. Could I have utilized it more? ABSOLUTELY. It just didn’t come as easily as Disney.

The Universal photo package is not integrated into the Universal App; your photos are posted on a separate website (myuniversalphotos.com). I seemed to encounter some type of issue every day with my photos loading to the account, and ended up having to go to one of the photo locations in the parks for assistance daily. That being said, all the staff were super helpful and fixed the issues promptly. But again, it just wasn’t simple. I didn’t like having to sort out photos every single day while I’m on vacation.

All the pictures have themed “frames” which is fine, but seems more for printing and I’d love to have some just plain family photos. I do love the ride photos because Archer's face is 10/10.

Surprisingly a lot of the photo ops (characters, raptor encounter etc) are all on your own device. There is staff available to take the picture, but no official photographer, so they're not even a part of the package.

Overall impression: MEH.
Would I do it again? Maybe.

Just wrapped up an amazing stay at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort! From our spacious family suite surrounded by stunning grounds to the super chill retro vibes, everything was amazing.

💦The pool with its fun slide was a hit, and the boys absolutely loved our daily walks to Volcano Bay.

🚌 Easy bus rides to City Walk and Universal Studios, and just a 20-minute drive from the airport—what more could we ask for?
