Just a few photos from my time in Gdańsk, Poland!
Gdańsk was formally a part of Germany and was called Danzig. Many locals still refer to it as that today. The start of the Second World War left it destroyed so the newer architecture definitely has a very German feel to it. Much different from Krakow so I’m glad I got to see both cities.
In 2017, the Musuem of the Second World War was built and I spent almost 4 hours here. It was very well done and it capped off my Poland tour perfectly. Definitely a must-see for history buffs!
I did this journey to Poland on my own. It can seem daunting to be a female solo traveller but it’s also something that has taught me just how incredibly capable I am. If you have been on the fence about solo travel, let’s talk! I would love to help you navigate your journey in the most organized and safest manner as possible. Moral support along the way is no extra cost to you 🙂

Witam (hello) from Krakow, Poland! 👋
I arrived here Saturday morning after a long 24 hours of travelling. The weather so far has been beautiful and Krakow is such a stunning city!
It is also a very affordable country with decent accommodations starting at around $80/night. Poland is still using zlotys so no need to worry about those pesky Euros which can be costly for Canadians. $100 CAD will get you around $307 here 😍
Krakow is so easy to navigate and taxis/Ubers are only a few dollars to get you where you need to go. I have done some exploring around Old Town, the Jewish Quarter, the Krakow Ghetto, Oscar Schindler’s Factory and yesterday I made the journey to see the Auschwitz/Birkenau concentration camps. It was a somber day, but something I wish everyone could see. It’s hard to imagine that this all took place only 80 years ago 💔
Tomorrow I will be taking the train up to Northern Poland to the city of Gdańsk for the remainder of my trip. This is where World War II began so I am looking forward to the history it has to offer 🙂

I have an amazing solo adventure booked for myself this spring. I am heading to Poland in 10 days! I have wanted to take this journey since I was a kid. I will be spending a few days in Krakow to see Auschwitz before taking the train up to Gdansk, where WWII began. Being that I have some family roots here, I am looking forward to immersing myself in the history and culture that this country has to offer! I'll be sure to post a few updates as I go along 😊

There are many resorts on certain departure dates this winter that are already sold out. We are competing against an entire world of travelers who have been waiting for almost 3 years. Then there's the high costs of fuel. This is not good when it comes to any deals of selloffs. They simply won't exist this winter.
I HIGHLY advise, if you are looking to escape that you book soon before our options for SK are even more limited. Also, go into things with a higher than usual budget to avoid being disappointed. It's gonna be an interesting year....and as always, given that there is still some uncertainty regarding what requirements could change....PLEASE use a travel agent 😉
