This holiday season, a little tree in front of the Cenotaph has captured the community's attention. Affectionately named Tommy, this tree may be small, but with your help, his story can grow big into one of generosity and holiday spirit!

We’re collecting new, unwrapped children’s gifts until December 5. All donations will be gathered for a special photo under Tommy to showcase the BIG impact a little tree can have and to celebrate the generosity and community spirit of NOTL. Marrakech Mansion is for sale. An email just went out to everyone on my distribution list telling them it is for sale. The listing price will be 3.2M including most furniture. It will be listed from 1 September until 30 November. If not sold it will be rented as usual for 2025.

The town council of Niagara on the Lake is making decisions contrary to the wishes of the people of the town. Approving two new hotels, rescinding the heritage protection on a Queen street property to mention a few. If you agree pls sign the petition.

Here is a photo of a farmerette from the Second World War working on one of the local farms with her supervisor, Mr. Woods. These young ladies, usually aged 16 or older, were hired through the Farm Service Force to assist in harvesting fruits and vegetables for the canning industry. Depending on the job, the pay was 0.25 cents per hour, or they were paid by the number of baskets collected. These young women were put to work in Niagara, St. Davids, Queenston, Virgil and other locals within the township. Some of the girls were housed in tents in orchards, while others were placed in high schools or empty motels. In the fall, they would return home until the following year.

The house across the street from Marrakech Mansion has been sold. The old house was too far gone to be repaired so will be torn down this summer and replaced with a modern lookalike. I could not be happier!
