Today is the last day to register for our medicine walk with Clare Butterfly, happening tomorrow, Sat July 6, at 1:30pm! You'll be lead on a walk of our site to look for medicinal plants, learn about their uses, & harvest them. You'll also get a tea as part of the walk. $40 per person & all ages welcome. It was a slower start to the camping season this year with less than ideal weather but we are in full swing now! We just wrapped up a great weekend complete with a big group from Calgary who had an exciting gender reveal party while they were camping here! Congratulations to the expecting family!!
Looking forward to the busiest weekend of the year coming up.

One of the new additions to Hippy Haven this season are horseshoe pits. I have this trophy and horse shoes that were my Grandpa Bud’s that I would like put into a weather proof case with the words “Bud Knudson Memorial Horseshoe Pits”. Does anyone know anywhere I could get something like that made?

I’m not the greatest at keeping this page active to say the least. That doesn’t mean that the fun has stopped at Hippy Haven! I had 17 guests last night and such great people. It makes my heart happy to see the guests mingle and new friends being made. The trails are getting more groomed all the time. The off leash dog run that’s close to 1/4 of an acre is a nice addition as well. The bird watching has never been better with a red tail hawk and a northern cardinal being spotted in the last 2 days just to mention a couple.

Last fall, the Merlin app was recommended to me. It records and identifies birds by their song. These birds were all identified during my morning coffee. What a great way to start the day!

I’ve had a lot of people be super judgy about our trailer… like “that’s not camping, why even bother, just stay home” …. We are hopefully making great memories with our baby girl!
Also, be kind to people struggling with back in and set up - it’s hard!! And everyone has to learn at some point.

Cool sky tonight! It’s been a busy spring at Hippy Haven. New friends have been made! 😊 The fireflies have been magical. The birds and the squirrels are entertaining. Sites 5, 6 and 7 each with 30amp power will be added to HipCamp on Thursday.
We have a HipCamp photographer staying in the Cabin on Monday and taking pictures of the property.

It’s been a fun and busy season opener weekend here at Hippy Haven!

Only a few short days until the season opening weekend at Hippy Haven! There are some exciting changes happening. After much deliberation, I decided to remove the wood burning stove from the cabin. As much as I love the ambiance it was super challenging to keep the temperature regulated. A beautiful electric fireplace with a thermostat arrived today and will be getting installed tomorrow. Starlink internet is being installed on Wednesday and will provide wifi to the entire property. The birds are chirping and the grass is green! Looking forward to meeting new friends and welcoming return guests as well.

Spring is in the air and the bookings are rolling in at Hippy Haven! I’m excited for the snow to go so I can get busy with some projects. I’m looking into the possibility of adding 4 more 30 amp plugs for RV’s. I will be adding those sites to pull your own RV in on HipCamp this week. Additionally, Hippy Haven, Hippy Haven Puma and Hippy Haven Pioneer will be ready for your next adventure.

I sold the chickens last fall and have been trying to decide if I should get more this spring. I would love to get your vote! Yay or nay to the chickens??

Hello From Hippy Haven!!

We are having a great summer hosting guests from all over the place! I hope your enjoying your summer wherever you are. I just got my new paddle board today and am excited to spend some time on the water!

Just wanted to let you know that this weekend in the cabin just opened up. If you are needing a little R&R and a break from everyday, consider a nature retreat just south of Ponoka.

Hey friends! I hope you enjoyed a great May long. We are enjoying the weather and a fire this afternoon!

I just want to say thank you to my incredible new friends from Edmonton that were my guests in the cabin Friday night. They loved it so much that they have booked to come back in June for 4 days to celebrate her birthday!! Looking forward to getting to know you better next visit!

If you have friends or family that could use a break from the city or a reset in nature, I would be super grateful if you suggested they consider Hippy Haven. I’m looking forward to a great summer hosting great people 😊
