Children love to get messy and play in the mud and good thing because it is incredibly important to their early development. 👏 One of their favourite things are mud pies so we thought some fun recipe cards would be a great way to get outside and encourage play! Simply take out a bowl, some scoops or measuring cups and go outside and play 🌿

Benefits of Mud Play:
Mud Play encourages creativity in children. It is important has they play imaginatively outdoors and experience nature. This facilitates opportunities for them to problem solve, come up with and explore ideas and exercise their minds!
Playing in the mud is also important for children so they can develop and practice their fine and gross motor skills, increase awareness of their senses, particularly touch, improve hand/ eye coordination!

Today the West Bay Volunteer Fire department took some time out of their busy morning to stop in at Puddle Jumpers to talk to the children!

The kids got to witness the process of a firefighter putting on their gear and learned the value of not being afraid in an emergency because help is on hand.

In November, we talked about healthing eating and explored the different foods we need to eat to help us grow. After reading the book "I can eat a Rainbow", we made a rainbow with all sorts of fruits and vegetables. After the girls were done talking about their favorites, they made up a plate with their healthy favorite food!
