On July 7th, 2024, the NLCHC-TeaMWork Migrant Worker Project held an incredible pre-match soccer practice, and what a day it was! Six enthusiastic teams came out to gear up for the highly anticipated MWP Cup in 2024.

On Saturday, June 22nd, The North Lambton Community Health Centre-TeaMWork Migrant Worker Project held its second dental clinic, sponsored by Lambton Shores Family Dental, providing essential care to 30 migrant workers!
We at the Migrant Workers Program (MWP) are incredibly grateful to the amazing staff at Lambton Shores Dental who took time out of their weekend to perform this vital service. Your dedication and generosity do not go unnoticed, and the workers truly appreciate the care and compassion you provide.
A special shoutout to Dr. David for bringing along a little helper who kept everyone on their toes and added an extra dose of fun to the day!

Thank you, Roelands Plant Farms Inc., for hosting our NLCHC-TeaMWork Migrant Worker Project team and partners at a fantastic wellness fair!
Here's a snapshot of the day's activities:
• Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW) provided crucial information on how to work safely in the heat and humidity. 🔥
• The County of Lambton Emergency Medical Services Department conducted blood pressure checks to ensure everyone was in good health. ❤️
• Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent shared vital resources on accessing mental health support. 🧠
• Pharmasave Forest Pharmacy Al Ladak offered information on sun protection and other health tips. ☀️
• Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services educated workers on fire safety. 🚒
• NLCHC Lynne Brown provided information on healthy eating habits. 🥦
• NLCHC-Caley demonstrated stretching exercises for workers during breaks or before and after work to prevent muscle problems. 🧘♂️
Each partner offered goodies, and the NLCHC-TeaMWork Migrant Worker Project raffled off fruit and veggie baskets. Participants provided feedback to help us understand how the event went and to explore other ways we could support them.

On May 19th, 2024, the long-awaited NLCHC-TeaMWork Migrant Worker Project Domino Tournament occurred at Willow Hydroponic Farm. 100 workers from Willow Spring Hydroponic Farms Ltd., EnviroFresh Produce Ltd., Fresh Venture Farms, Twin Creek GreenHouse Ltd., Roelands Plant Farms Inc. and EUSI Farms Ltd gathered for the 2024 Domino Tournament winner. A total of 14 teams participated, showcasing their skills and camaraderie.
Team Fresh Ventures Farms emerged victorious, taking home the championship title. Workers had much laughter and delicious food and made new connections during this exciting event.
Thank you to Willow Hydroponic Farm for graciously hosting the North Lambton Community Health Centre-TeaMWork Migrant Worker Project. We extend our gratitude to all the participants who made this event a success and ensured that everyone was well-fed.

We're thrilled to share the success of the first wellness fair on May 15th at Fresh Venture Farms in Thedford! 🌱
Thanks to the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent, Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW), County of Lambton EMS, and our dedicated North Lambton Community Health Centre staff members came together to support our migrant workers.
From informative sessions on mental health and healthy eating to vital tips on handling heat exhaustion and blood pressure checks, every aspect of the fair was designed with the well-being of our workers in mind.
One highlight was the stretching class, where workers gathered to learn effective techniques for staying limber and reducing strain.
A big thank you to Fresh Venture Farms for hosting our team and to all our partners for their commitment to supporting the health and well-being of migrant workers.
