“Richard and I met back in university but we never spoke to each other, save for the happy birthday wishes on Facebook every year. Four years of university whisked by in a blink of an eye and we forgot about each other.

But then one day in 2013, I used GO Transit to get to work in Oakville and I discovered that he operated GO trains on the Lakeshore line. I asked him for directions, and being a kind and generous person, Richard immediately offered up his Presto card to use for the day. Borrowing meant that I needed to see him again to return it. I guess it was a clever move? That second meeting turned into countless more.

Five years down the road, we are still together and madly in love with much to be thankful for. Come August, Richard will be celebrating 8 years as a GO Train Locomotive Engineer and in September, we will be celebrating our marriage!”
