Mandatory random COVID-19 testing will resume for fully vaccinated travellers arriving at Canada's four major airports – Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto – starting July 19, 2022. All testing for air travellers, for both those who qualify as fully vaccinated and partially or unvaccinated, will now be completed outside of airports, either via an in-person appointment at select testing provider locations and pharmacies, or a virtual appointment for a self-swab test. Fully vaccinated air travellers who are selected for mandatory random testing, as well unvaccinated travellers, will receive an email notification within 15 minutes of completing their customs declaration.

A statement released yesterday from Israel’s Ministry of Health has confirmed Israel is dropping its final Covid-19 curbs by removing on-arrival PCR tests.
Under the new guidelines agreed by the Ministry of Health and the Airports Authority, passengers landing at Ben Gurion airport from May 20th will no longer be required to perform a PCR test.

Further to this, the Ministry of Health also confirmed that starting this Tuesday (May 10th) foreigners flying to Israel will now be allowed to take an antigen test before boarding the plane instead of a PCR test. Any passenger who chooses the antigen option will be required to perform the test in the 24 hours prior to their departure to Israel.

Tourists of all ages are now allowed into Israel regardless of their vaccination status.

Incoming tourists must present a negative PCR test - conducted within 72 hours of the scheduled time of departure. The test result must be in English and include the traveler's passport details.

All passengers must take a PCR test upon arrival in Israel. This includes vaccinated and recovered persons. Pre-registration is required on sampling company's website "Femi" located at Ben Gurion International Airport.

Exempted from a pre-departure COVID are recovered travelers that will present airline officials with a positive result of a PCR test or a rapid (antigen) test that was taken at an authorized site less than three months prior to boarding the plane and on the condition that the traveler enters Israel at least on day 8 after the test (the test date is considered day 1).

Please note: Non-vaccinated travelers that are exposed to a person that has been diagnosed with Corona will need to enter isolation for at least 5 days, maximum 7 days.

As of February 28, fully vaccinated Canadian travellers will no longer be required to take a PCR test to return to Canada. Travellers will be able to take a cheaper and faster rapid antigen test a maximum of 24 hours prior to their scheduled return flight.

In more good news, children under 12 who are not fully vaccinated and travelling with fully vaccinated adults will no longer face quarantine or testing restrictions on return. That stipulation has been seen as a major deterrent for family travel.

The Canadian federal government announced it is easing border restrictions effective 28FEB and dropping its advisory against non-essential travel. In addition, all Canadian airports will be open to international flights by the end of the month.
