Well it’s about that time... Fall turkey season is coming to a close soon. It was a very short, fun, very educational few weeks. We went out once at Willoughby Marsh in Niagara Falls where we heard a few turkeys in the distance but they were too far off to know where they were coming from and our lack of skills in scouting parked us in a very inactive turkey location. The second time out we tried Crown land around the Wainfleet bog (by forkes road) our spot had signs like droppings but not a trace of a turkey in the morning. We took a walk, found some feathers and droppings and heard some gobblers in the distance but still came up empty handed. We are so happy that we had the opportunity to go out and spend time in nature. equipped with mostly hand me down equipment and internet articles and YouTube channels to learn what to do next we did our best, played it safe and had a great time.

Let me know if anyone is actually reading these posts. If you are and have any fall turkey stories please sent them to me as i would love to read about them. Please give suggestions about what to try and hunt next or what equipment will make our time out more efficient

Well Canadain Thanksgiving is over and the Ontario Fall turkey season is open. Not only Turkey is open in my WMU
but Duck, Geese, Deer (with Bow) are currently open. Let me know what you are going out to catch. Send me some of your hunting stories and photos and Ill make sure to share them with the page.

Alright, so its almost fall turkey season and this is my first time scouting. Turns out I have no idea what do to, a buddy of mine and I went out into the middle of Willoughby Marsh in Niagara walked for a while to see if we could find any signs of turkeys. We found nothing.... but that's ok, we found some great clearings and some spots that looked promising. it also rained and there's a lot of leaf coverings. All in all we had a good time out in the bush, staying quiet and just looking and listening to everything that was going on around us. We did a small shopping trip to Bass Pro shop and picked up a few items. My Friend picked up some Muck hunting boots for about $120 (original price of $170) and he said they were great. I picked up a camo long sleeve to keep warm and a camo face mask (about $25) it was fun to wear, kept me warm and i think it looks pretty awesome.
If anyone has any tips or tricks to help learn how to properly scout I am all ears. if you have any questions about where we went and what permits we picked up let me know and ill answer as soon as I can.

I hope anyone interested in the Fall Turkey hunt has a great upcoming season and happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone this weekend.

Hi Everyone,

So this page has been inactive for a very, very, long time. I thought it was time to give it a little boost. My name is Matt and I have decided to use Through the Scope to help track and document all of my trials and tribulations of learning to hunt. I am located in Niagara and will be following the rules and regulations of hunting in the area. I will provide reviews and insights on what I experience and am looking for help, tips, advice, and stories from anyone who wants to partake.
