FarOut Wilderness is officially Biosphere Committed!

We have joined the Biosphere sustainability program to help us develop a more inclusive, sustainable, and conscious company. The program is aligned with the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris COP21 Accord to Fight Climate Change. Canada has implemented an 18th goal, following the blueprint of Truth and Reconciliation Goals.

Here are some of our goals this year to meet our sustainability mission:

-Become carbon neutral, offsetting 30,000km of vehicle use and other business emissions
-Create an incentive program empowering guests to practice no-trace camping and actively participate in cleaning wilderness areas
-Conduct Indigenous perspectives training for staff
-Implement a new gender equality policy internally: Support for all Parents

The alliance is a collaboration between several public and private organizations in BC committed to improving the safety of drivers in winter conditions. Alliance members work together to provide education and resources that help people understand and reduce driving-related risks.

Here at FarOut Wilderness, we're committed to being one of the safest winter car rental options BC has to offer. We look forward to learning from our partners in the alliance, and sharing our ever-growing knowledge on safe winter driving practices with our audience.

This is Bird. She's the first overland vehicle our team adventured in, taking our owners Sam and Abbie on an epic journey through Malawi, Zambia, and Botswana in 2016. She's the inspiration for FarOut Wilderness.

Upon moving to BC, our team was surprised that there weren’t many options for overland adventures in British Columbia’s wild and beautiful places. So we took it upon ourselves to create an overlanding experience that would help people connect with each other, and this beautiful province.
