Indulging in Parisian delights 🥪✨ This window display is a feast for the eyes and taste buds! From savory sandwiches to gourmet treats, every bite is a taste of Parisian perfection.
✨ South India Women’s Tour 🇮🇳 ~ Day 2 ~ We continued our tour of the city of Chennai with a visit to Kalakshetra - an esteemed cultural academy preserving India's diverse art forms. Founded in 1936 by the remarkable Rukmini Devi Arundale, it stands as a sanctuary for Bharatnatyam dance, music, arts & crafts. Rukmini's tireless efforts revived & evolved Bharatnatyam dance, transforming it into a respectable, revered art. Her collaborations refined techniques, music, and costumes, earning her the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 1956 for her immense contribution to the arts.
🙏 Visiting the 100-acre campus, we witnessed the serene morning prayer ceremony under a beautiful Banyan tree planted by Rukmini herself. Despite photo restrictions, the sight was captivating. The campus buzzed with students honing their skills, a testament to Rukmini's legacy. Her multifaceted life—India's first female parliamentarian, advocate for animal welfare, vegetarianism & human rights—inspires generations. In 1977 she declined the offer to become President of India to safeguard her artistic pursuits. In 1986 at 81, she left behind an enduring legacy. The Indian Parliament recognized the Kalakshetra Foundation as an Institute of National Importance in 1994. Celebrations in 2004 commemorated her 100th birth anniversary, resonating globally through lectures & festivals.
🥻 Next we explored the famous shopping area T Nagar's Ranganathan Street, bustling with preparations for the vibrant Hindu festival Durga Puja. We visited a saree/clothing shop and it was CRAZY! The array of colours & choices overwhelmed us, but the people-watching was fascinating.
✨ Our tour continued with a visit to the National Art Gallery & Museum, housing an impressive collection of bronze sculptures, followed by a visit to St Mary's Church, a vestige of India's colonial past (oldest surviving British church).
🥘 We finished the day with a delicious South Indian dinner at a beautiful hotel restaurant. As we savored local cuisine, a classical Indian dance performance added a perfect note, a beautiful contrast to the morning's enchanting student practice at Kalakshetra. A day filled with art, culture & tradition 🎶

Today's African Tour update comes from a beautiful beach in Pwani Mchangani, Zanzibar North, Tanzania!
"It's hot hot hot in Zanzibar! Our resort area has breathtaking, white sand beaches for miles. Stone Town was incredibly interesting with the history of the slave trade, the spice & food market, and the most gorgeous hand-carved doors everywhere that they are famous for.
We're spending a few days relaxing after our busy safari experiences before our journey home. Tomorrow a few of us are heading out snorkeling as it's supposed to be spectacular here.

“Our last night in Samburu. I am laying in bed, listening to a Lion roaring outside our luxury tent, after another wonderful day of game driving. What a fantastic experience! These are just a few photos from our days here. I have soooo many and many of animals that I don't have photos downloaded from my camera yet.
Tomorrow we head to the Masai Mara.”

"What an unbelievable experience!! Gorilla trekking in Uganda. Massive gentle creatures. They call it the impenetrable forest for a reason. The trackers macheted the pathway in through the dense jungle and it so was worth the scramble. Woot woot!"

We were so excited to see the Blue Footed Bo***es during our recent tour of the Galapagos Islands! Since we are missing our feathered friends today, we thought we would share a few cool facts about these beautiful birds!
1. Did you know that the male boobie actually catcalls the females by whistling at them? If the females decide they like this, the pair will enter a courtship dance!
2. If you ever hear a boobie "laughing", it is actually a method of cooling off!
3. Male and female bo***es have different pupils, which is a great way of identifying their gender! While males have pinpoint-type pupils, the females are larger. Can you spot the female in our photos?

Surrounded by a sea of color 🌷✨ Our journey through the Netherlands was a floral dream come true, with fields of tulips as far as the eye could see. From deep reds to vibrant yellows and soft pinks, each bloom was a masterpiece of nature. ✨ South India Women’s Tour 🇮🇳 ~ Day 1 ~ We started our tour with a day trip from Chennai to visit the historic towns of Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram - known as the city of 1000 temples! This area is known for its temples and silk sarees. ✨ We also visited a local community silk weaver cooperative to see a weaver’s home to see how they weave silk sarees by hand & loom. The lady of the house let us see her small kitchen, which smelled delicious! We visited their community store where they sell sarees, scarves & more. They gave us a saree wrapping demo where our tour host Juhli got to try on a beautiful blue saree! 💙 ✨ At the end of the day we visited a small shop with beautiful home decor items, jewellery, meditation singing bowls & more! The people watching from our bus was fascinating, the food was delicious, and we saw our first monkey of the trip (just walking along a fence)! We’re enjoying our excellent local India tour guide Charles who is teaching us about the history and culture.
